From the outside gate Oscar Brain can cross and take up the running. MASHERBRUM (5) showed good early speed last start before boxing on well and finishing second, beaten 1.5 lengths, over today's trip at Ohi. Nicely placed to take this out. OSCAR BRAIN (12) was well found in the betting last time out but could only manage to finish sixth over 1000m at Monbetsu in a disappointing performance. Has his share of ability. Holds genuine claims this time in this suitable race. MARUKEI FORTE (8) was comfortably accounted for when sixth last time out over 1400m at Mizusawa. That followed a win at this track at the previous outing. Finds a tougher race but a better run will not surprise. COMBAT SPOON (1) had been racing well with two consecutive placings before last start managing only seventh over 2000m at Mizusawa. Has a decent record at this track. Cannot be underestimated.
