Solid tempo with several going forward headed by Palm Isle. MODERN FRINGE (5) was a narrow winner by half a length at this track two back then third at Mizusawa last time. Down in the weights on last run. Tou Bunhou who has three wins when partnering stays on. Sure to run well. PALM ISLE (6) showed good pace over 850m at Mizusawa last time and defied all challengers to score by half a length. It doesn't get any easier but on her best form she is one of the chief contenders. TOKINO ONE CARAT (3) finished out of the money two starts back then was beaten 2 lengths when fifth in a 1400m contest at Mizusawa two weeks ago. Has a solid record at this course and distance, including two wins. Nicely placed to get the prize. LADY AVANTI (8) resumes today after filling a minor placing at her last appearance at Mizusawa over 850m on March 23. Makes plenty of appeal.
