The ideally-drawn Kentucky Nick to set a strong tempo with Myers Reward and Maxxi Bon applying plenty of pressure. COTTON TREE (5) can bounce back. He was no match for The Western Front fresh at Geelong but still held down second before fading at Flemington when up in class to a BM70. Comes back to a BM64 here and up to 2000m having shown ability over the trip last time in. HIAWATHA (3) has only won one from fourteen but is racing quite well in NSW, not far away at Newcastle last time out and having also run well against some decent staying opposition in town prior. Rates a key chance. MYERS REWARD (2) ran well fresh at Warrnambool for second and measured up nicely at Flemington second up. Gets to 2000m third up and should be ready to peak. SOCIALLY SASSY (11) has run third in all three starts this time in and should be hitting the line again. GINGER SWEET (10) is knocking on the door and has claims. SUGGESTED PLAY: Cotton Tree on top.
