Always plenty of early pressure in sprint races such as this with a large contingent of first starters. PULA (8) on top. She ran a good race on debut at Geelong over 1212m, taking up the running and only going down late when beaten a length into second. She'll be better for that and should have the pace to hold the front from the inside gate. If that eventuates, she'll go close. SECRET ELEGANCE (9) was okay at Pakenham last time from a tricky draw having shown promise in two runs prior. Can land in a better spot here and be hard to hold out late. JASMINA (6) is a filly by Blue Point on debut for the Danny O'Brien yard. She's jumping out well and draws a soft gate. Expecting she measures up. REGAL SURGE (1) is a gelding by Darci Brahma on debut for the Ciaron Maher yard. Expect he'll get further but must respect the yard. BAZABALL REWARDED (2) ran well at Mornington fresh and can figure. SUGGESTED PLAY: Pula to win.
