The Peony Xpress has good early speed and can set a decent tempo. HOSTILITY (11) has ventured South after missing a start at Te Rapa on Monday when that meeting was called off. He has a good draw and should really be too good for this lot. Clearly on top. LA VOISIN (9) did not have many favours off a wide gate at Riccarton 6 days ago, and will be hoping for some better luck here. Outside of the top pick, this field does not have much depth, and she can figure in the top 3. THE PEONY XPRESS (6) has been freshened up after putting together some handy efforts earlier in the season. She is likely to push forward from a wide gate and is capable of holding on for a top 4 placing. BAGGIO (3) is fairly hard to catch, but if the pace is genuine, then he, too, is worth including in all combinations. WATSON (2) did not run on as expected here nearly 3 weeks ago and will have the side winkers on this time. His effort for third fresh up at Riccarton is good form for a race like this, and he is worth another chance. SUGGESTED PLAY: Hostility should win for fun.
