Goofinator to roll forward and dictate terms. WILL TO EXCEL (4) returned from a break and proved too classy last start, scoring narrowly over 2400m on the Riverside surface. Fitter now and loves this track and trip. Cahill sticks and the pair tick plenty of boxes. VALENTINE JOHN (3) is going better than the form reads and will appreciate the drop back to the country. Has form around him that stacks up. GOOFINATOR (5) just missed behind Will To Excel last time and is ticking over well. Meets him worse at the weights but has the fitness edge. SCARLI JAPALI (1) got a long way back last start but charged home to finish fourth, beating home Valentine John in town. The rise in trip suits but she does carry an extra 5kgs. Interesting to see LUMBER DREAM (2) jumping sharply in trip after a midfield effort on the Riverside. SUGGESTED PLAY: Will To Excel to win.
