In a race devoid of pace Aqueduct will be prominent. AQUEDUCT (1) resumes for the McEvoy yard, and it strikes at a whopping 32% this track. He was narrowly beaten as favourite at Mornington his only fresh outing and will be naturally improved. He's jumped out well with race rider John Allen aboard. NEW CHARACTER (9) debuts for the sharp Laurie barn and the colt has looked the goods in his leadups. Has a senior hoop aboard and a bold run is on the cards. BETTER SHAPE UP (2) missed a nose here two weeks ago, surprising the market. The surface agrees and he'll be in the finish with a similar effort. HI TIAGO (7) debuts and placed second here in a recent jumpout. Looks ready to go and has to be kept safe. BREECHES (5) is an improver in a leading metro barn and is worth a look. SUGGESTED PLAY: Aqueduct appeals most.
