Many of these step out for the first time so a genuine tempo is expected. SACRED FORT (5) resumes for the premier yard and has been unlucky not to have broken through in stronger Maidens. He's placed 2/3 fresh and John Allen sticks from a placed jumpout. He is right up to this and is likely to go close. COMPLETE UNKNOWN (11) was beaten 1.6L at Sale on debut (slow track), and it was a tough effort. He was expected to need the outing and is sure to have come on. In a leading stable and the fact that he stays in is a decent push for his chances. FOX STRIKE (2) missed a whisker at Warrnambool on debut on soft ground and then got too far back on the dry at Swan Hill. He's going to be much sharper today and should be right in the finish. GILES (3) resumes for a sharp barn and he was heavily bet finding a place at Wangaratta when last seen. He has a 1.5kg claim and has jumped out twice. He's likely to race well. SUGGESTED PLAY: Sacred Fort each-way.
