Anticipating a strong tempo with plenty of speed engaged. IMHOTEP (4) resumes after a break of four-and-a-half months. Hoping for a repeat of his debut win over 1800m at Nakayama Dirt to kick off last prep. Leading contender. PLUM DANDY (2) settled well back last time then wound up strongly in the straight to finish second over today's journey at Hakodate Dirt. Good record at this journey with two wins and seven minor placings from 11 starts and is a leading contender. SHONAN YO HO (7) improved sharply on his fourth two starts back at Tokyo Dirt with a win as public elect over 1700m at this track two weeks ago, getting home by half a length. Must raise the bar but he has the ability to test this field. TAISEI MISSION (10) has been thereabouts recently, the latest result a fourth beaten 1.1 lengths at Hakodate Dirt over 1700m. Has good early toe so he should be handy in the run. In the mix.
