Expecting a solid pace primarily from Shamal. COSTA NOVA (3) is a genuine five-year-old entire who resumed with a solid third last time out at Funabashi over 1600m. Won at his only second-up appearance so there is plenty of upside. EMPEROR WAKEA (1) resumes after finishing in the money over 1400m at Kochi on 25/03/2025, adding to his solid overall record. The first-up credentials are sound so he is a leading contender. CHIKAPPA (9) is a talented entire who tackled a tougher race at his last run on February 22 and finished tenth behind Straight No Chaser over 1200m at Group 2 level at Riyadh Dirt. Winning rider Yutaka Take sticks. One of the contenders. SHAMAL (2) showed good early speed and raced just off the lead before lifting to score by half a length over 1600m at Funabashi last start. Has a strong association with Haruhiko Kawasu who has been in the saddle for his last two wins. Not to be discounted.
