TAB 1100m
Off the low draw Super Dailo should lead at a genuine tempo.
MISS FLADGATE (8) won her maiden here second up from a spell, and the Stephen Marsh stable is unstoppable at the moment. She has a good draw, and with Opie Bosson keeping the ride, she can take the next step immediately. HARD ROCA (6) has been freshened up since finishing eighth in a good field here just over 8 weeks ago. The form from that race has since been franked, and he should go close to a top 3 finish this time. HOT CARD (12) raced close to the pace before letting down strongly to score by over a length at Taupo fresh up. She won a trial easily before that, and has the scope to go on with the job now. SABIK (3) stuck to his task gamely off a wide gate when resuming at Taupo, beaten by a length. He has taken time to mature and will be even sharper second up. Stick with him on an each-way basis in a good field. CHICAGO JACK (5) will be peaking third up and is ready to put his best hoof forward. Include in all combinations. SUGGESTED PLAY: Hard Roca each way. |

YOURRIDE 1200m
Plenty of pace with Golden Wings and Fleeting Star up front, pressured by Rising Wind and Argo.
GOLDEN WINGS (1) is unbeaten at the trials, and has finished runner-up in both of his race day starts, including his fresh-up effort here 17 days ago, when finishing a neck behind the winner. Everything is in his favour here, and he is ready to win. NAVY ENSIGN (8) won a trial before making an impressive debut here just over 6 weeks ago when finishing runner-up. He closed off his effort strongly, and with the natural improvement that is expected second up, he can go one better, especially with the advantage of the pole position. FLEETING STAR (12) tried hard second up here when finishing third off a wide gate. He also cast a shoe that day, which would not have helped either. He gets a favourable swing in his draw and is another with each-way claims. ARGO (9) was fourth against most of these last start, and will be peaking third up from a spell. He has scope and won't be in this grade for long. THAT'S GOLD (7) was third fresh up, and when he puts it all together, he will win races. SUGGESTED PLAY: Golden Wings is overdue, and That's Gold is a real nice gelding. |

BARFOOT & THOMPSON 1600m
Strong pace from La Prima Dama booting up with Rocky Marciano coming across.
NAVY DREAMS (7) has been knocking on the door and was only beaten by half a head here last time out. He has the blinkers on for the first time, and Opie Bosson in the saddle will negate his wide gate. He steps up to a mile and can have the last say. DREAM MAKER (9) won a couple of trials prior to a fair effort on debut on this track when needing the experience. He was much better when second at Te Aroha last start, and should pick up his first win shortly. MORETOTHINKABOUT (10) just peaked on his effort late off a wide trip here 17 days ago and will relish getting out to a mile. He will be hoping for some better luck after copping another tough gate, but the way the Marsh team is going, he will be right in the finish here. TORUK MAKTO (1) gave a good sight in front when resuming from a spell and faded late along the worst part of the track near the fence that day. He could be hard to peg back with less weight to carry here. LOS SANTOS (11) is worth including in all top 4 combos. SUGGESTED PLAY: Navy Dreams is overdue to win. |

SHOW BY SKYCITY 1400m
Anticipating a strong tempo with plenty of speed engaged.
AKSIL (4) had been showing plenty of talent at the trials and made an impressive debut at Taupo just over 3 weeks ago when scoring by over a length, being geared down at the line. He has richer targets than this ahead of him, and he can repeat the dose. AFFIRMATIVE ACTION (1) was an upset winner of the Listed Colin Meads Trophy here nearly 2 months ago, but his trainer was full of confidence before the race. He has a better gate this time, and is another with the scope to go on to better things this season. TOWERING VISION (2) is a stakes-placed juvenile resuming from a spell that would have done him the world of good. A couple of trials will have him ready, and with Opie Bosson in the irons, he will be given every chance to take this out. BULGARI (5) has been steadily improving with his racing this prep, and a firmer surface will be the key to further improvement here. Each way value. ORATIA BEAUTY (9) found the going a bit tough at G2 level last start. Stick with her here. SUGGESTED PLAY: Aksil is full of promise, and Affirmative Action is already proven. |

NZB READY TO RUN SALE TRAINERS SERIES 1600m
Solid tempo with several going forward headed by Fosse.
HAKKINEN (1) showed plenty of talent as a 3-year-old and was not disgraced in the Derby earlier in the year. He rattled home fresh up over an unsuitable 1400m fresh up here 17 days ago when finishing fourth. If he is not already looking for a middle-distance, then he can have the last say. BILLY BLINX (6) has needed time to mature, as his breeding suggests, and he was a deserving maiden winner at Te Aroha nearly a fortnight ago. Now that the penny has dropped, he is expected to go on with the job. FOSSE (9) fought on strongly here last start when finishing midfield, and was runner-up in a good form race fresh up on this track before that. She is peaking at the right time and is certainly good enough to win this. STEELY MAN (7) is having no luck with his barrier draws and only needs a touch of luck to be right in the finish this time. Include in all combinations. SKYMAX (5) was out of the placings here last start but not far off the winner. Don't risk him. Include. SUGGESTED PLAY: Hakkinen can take this out. |

KINGMAKERS SYNDICATION 2400m
Pace genuine with Pacheco booting up to lead.
HEZA SHARP ONE (11) showed his true worth when stepping up to 2400m for the first time and scoring by a neck. There is more depth to this field, but he drops 2.5kg, and with that experience over this journey, he could repeat the dose. JOEJOECCINI (13) fought on but had no answer to the top pick in the same race 8 days ago. He will also benefit from a 4kg weight drop and is sure to be competitive again. I PARK (12) has been in the money in all of his last 3 starts, which have all been on this track. A wide gate is no problem over the trip, and he is another with each-way claims. UNEQUIVOCAL (10) battled on strongly for fourth over 2100m here 17 days ago, and is looking for more ground now. She gets her chance to post her first win for the season in this. SANTA CATALINA (15) was only beaten by a length when sixth here in a similar field last time out. She won over this trip in her penultimate start, and can take this out as well. SUGGESTED PLAY: I Park will go close again. |

ALMANZOR - PROVEN VALUE 1500m
Pow Wow has good gate speed and likely to set a genuine tempo with the advantage of the inside draw.
TARDELLI (4) let down beautifully to score fresh up here, and then left his run too late off a slow pace to finish a game third here last time out. He has a better gate this time and will also carry 3kg less. The extra 100m is ideal, and he is the one to beat. HASSTOBEAWINNER (5) was seventh resuming in the same race as the top pick. He had won a trial nicely before that, and will be spot on for his second-up assignment. He may not win often, but he has definite top 3 claims in this. CANNON HILL (7) was sixth against most of these here last time out, and is best when saved up for a last run at them. If the pace is genuine, then he can bounce straight back into the money. TALISKER (9) had a tough trip from a wide gate fresh up at Taupo, and has a superior gate this time. He wouldn't mind some cut in the ground, and should finish a lot closer this time. Each way value. MY LIPS ARE SEALED (6) will be peaking third up and has Opie Bosson back in the saddle. Don't drop her yet. SUGGESTED PLAY: Tardelli can win this. |

ELSDON PARK BALMERINO STAKES 2000m
A strong pace on the cards with Sagunto, Final Return and El Vencedor likely to roll along early. EL VENCEDOR (1) tried hard in the G1 Livamol Classic here last time out, but had to settle for second, after going for home at the top of the straight. He will be at his peak fitness, and we should look no further for the winner. THE ODYSSEY (3) caught the eye with an impressive last-to-first win here 10 days ago over a mile. He rocketed home fresh up from last at Taupo before that, and with the step up to 2000m, he is the main threat to the top pick. SHARP 'N' SMART (2) finally showed something like his former good form when stretching out strongly late to finish third in the G1 Livamol Classic last time out. He would be a popular winner, but for us, he is a top 3 chance. AFTERMATH (11) was fourth in the G1 Livamol and was hitting the line nicely. He has yet to feature in the top 3 on this course, which is a query for us, but include him in all combinations. MIDNIGHT BLUE (5) has been a good performer over the years. He may need this run, but can never be totally ruled out. SUGGESTED PLAY: El Vencedor should win. |

LISTEN LIVE ON SPORTNATION.NZ 1400m
Expecting a solid tempo set up by a few that like to push forward. SHE'S UNTOUCHABLE (3) dropped into this grade last time out over 1100m and tried hard when finishing third after challenging on the home turn. There will be no excuses third up over a more suitable trip of 1400m, and she is the one to beat, even from a wide gate. SCOUSER (9) closed off his fresh run at Rotorua powerfully for second as the favourite, missing out on the win by a nose. She won a trial before that, and on a slightly firmer surface, she can go one better here. AMUSEMENT (11) worked hard to find the front from a wide gate here 17 days ago, and was only claimed late, finishing fifth. She may try similar tactics from a superior gate and could take some pegging back. MOSCHINO (8) jumped up out of the ground when finishing second here 17 days ago. Stick with her on an each-way basis. SUGGESTED PLAY: She's Untouchable can win this. |

STELLA ARTOIS 1400m
From the outside gate Leroy Brown can cross and take up the running. SHE'S A DEALER (10) was good enough to finish fifth in the Queensland Oaks earlier in the year, and will be resuming here from a spell that would have done her the world of good. A recent trial win showed us that she has not missed a beat at home, and if she doesn't get bottled away from the pole position, she is the one to beat fresh up. MOXIE (14) caught the eye with a game finish off a wide run fresh up for third here 10 days ago. Ken Harrison does a great job with his small team, and this filly is heading for better things. Stick with her. ACAPELAGO (13) has been freshened up since finishing second by a short head here just over 6 weeks ago. She has a better draw this time, and the extra furlong is ideal. Each-way claims again. DRAMATIC MISS (11) was less than 2 lengths from the winner when finishing sixth as the favourite here last time out. She drops 4kg and is good enough to bounce straight back into the placings. Follow your money. MIZELLA (5) is chasing a hat-trick. Include. SUGGESTED PLAY: She's A Dealer could just be too classy. |
