NUM TIME COMMENT
1 11:02 JBM Group Maiden 1000m
Good early pressure anticipated with a large representation of unraced runners. CELESTIAL GLOW (9) rates well and third-up should be ready to fire. Has been well supported both starts back and will likely be suited back in trip. Positions forward and has the winkers on for the first time. SMASH 'N' GRAB (8) resumes. Wasn't far away at her last run before a break and owns a Longford trial win. The 2kg claim is handy and she has the early speed to clear the awkward gate. Should be right in the finish. GEEGEES MERCEDES (10) resumes and won a recent Longford trial by 4.5L. Draws an inside gate and can return improved. PACIFIC WITNESS (12) debuts and Pires sticks from a Longford trial placing. The betting will be key.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Celestial Glow on what we've seen.
2 11:36 Graham Family Funerals Maiden 1600m
Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Sedna. STRIDING BAY (5) brings a close second over 1600m at Launceston, enjoying the step-up in trip. He's on a 6-day return and will be hard to beat holding that form. I'M A MACHINE (2) has been within range here his last two and will appreciate the step up in trip. Has a handy 2kg claim today and the blinkers on for the first time. Expect him to be hitting the line hard. He has winning claims. ALPINE HONEY (1) finished a close third in the Striding Bay race when he led. May take a sit today and has winning prospects. KNIGHTS REIGN (3) is capable at best and keeps the handy 4kg claim. That brings him into it.  SUGGESTED PLAY: With Striding Bay.
3 12:09 Dave Garnier Birthday Cup Class 1 Handicap 1100m
Solid tempo with Fillentina, Crystal Moonbeam and Georgaroni going hard, closely attended by Smiffy. ALPINE FURY (2) resumes and is a promising gelding coming off a near miss and a 5L Maiden win, both at this track. Has the inside gate and will be naturally improved. Has trialled twice and is the one to beat. GEORGARONI (1) won his Maiden here on debut as expected and was immediately tipped out. Resumes owning a Longford trial win and Pires sticks. A bold return is on the cards. THE PIRATE QUEEN (8) was too good for a Maiden field when resuming over 1220m at Launceston. Maps well and stripping fitter she should be right in it. SMIFFY (9) resumes and would be a hope if presented forward this time around. The wide gate makes it tougher.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Alpine Fury.
4 12:50 Aviso TAS Insurance Brokers BM60 Handicap 2020m
Expecting I'm Chev and Doonican to pair off in front. Tough. SUGOI LEGEND (6) steps back up to this trip and that suits. His middle-distance form prior to the synthetic outing read strongly for this contest. Maps well and the 2kg claim is handy. DOONICAN (9) was plainer back to a mile last time but his form this distance range is also strong for this contest. He just missed at Launceston three back and has been kept up to the mark with a Longford trial. Go well. DYNAMIC DEEL (2) lifted from a mile and missed by 1.7L at Launceston. In the mix on that effort. I'M CHEV (7) is better on the synthetic but would be around the mark putting his best foot forward.  SUGGESTED PLAY: With Sugoi Legend.
5 01:34 Kevin Sharkie Class 4 1000m
Solid tempo anticipated with Amant Francais taking charge. BLAMEITONTHEBOOGIE (3) was spelled off a spacious debut win on the synthetic and resumed at Launceston with a heavily bet win at CL1 level. He's promising and tumbles in weight at this level. That brings him right into it. Listed placed GEEGEES MISSILE (6) brings a string of wins and did it easily as a firm favourite at Launceston last time. She will use the inside barrier and is feared. NAVAL ANTHEM (2) raced favourite second up but looked a run short. He is still well shy of his best and has the tongue tie on again. He will get every chance from the inside barrier. ESPRIT DIVA (4) is racing well and was beaten just 1.3L at Launceston last time. She's in the mix.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Sticking with Blameitontheboogie.
6 02:11 Ladbrokes Spring Hosted Pots BM60 Handicap 1200m
Gingerson is the likely leader at a slick tempo. MAKE A DECISION (2) has been knocking on the door in stronger company and is suited with the 2kg claim. Comes back 220m in trip with the blinkers applied for the first time. Maps well and finds the right race. RESTRICTED ACCESS (4) scored comfortably first-up but then disappointed over 1100m at Launceston after being in contention on the turn. Presents fitter and he can stick on a lot better back in class. EASTCOAST MISS (3) resumes and goes well on the fresh side. Finds much easier and the 2kg claim is handy. Deserves consideration. ARAYA SUNSHINE (7) resumed at this level and needed the outing. She's placed 2/3 second-up and Pires is reunited. Has a soft gate and on song is good enough.  SUGGESTED PLAY: With Make A Decision.
7 02:45 Mingari+ Co BM68 Handicap 1400m
Only a small field with Lily Luella likely to find a comfortable lead. THE LONGEST YARD (7) was sent out at long odds when resuming but ran above expectations, beaten 1L over 1200m at Launceston. He's improved, and 3x winning rider Jordan is reunited. Fitter and the longer sprint suits. Just has to hold that form to go close. LILY LUELLA (8) resumed in the same contest and finished just behind the above after racing forward. Has the winkers on again and is proven second-up. VERBANO (5) won a 72 this trip and then raced over a mile beaten 2L in a 76. Carries more weight at this level, but is a decent chance to bounce. JUST A NEEDS (1) resumes and has been racing in stronger. She's won fresh and has the inside gate. Has the handy 3kg claim and is worth a market watch.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to The Longest Yard.
