BUNBURY VOLKSWAGEN MAIDEN 1705m
Can't see them going very hard with a lack of any real speed horses. Moderate maiden where MALAGARASI (6) will rightly go out well fancied. Made debut over 1300m at Northam and settled back before running on hard into fourth, beaten a couple of lengths. Looks likely to relish the extra ground and should be getting off the mark. LOVE OF FAR FA (3) is a long-time maiden but has done enough to appeal as the main danger. Has to overcome a terrible run though last time when back and wide and only jogged to the line. The start prior ran on well to place and if returning to that figure is right in this race. Just needs to bounce back. The race drops away very quickly beyond that. GRAVITY DEFYING (7) has fewer convictions than most, turning in a solid debut when grinding home into seventh. Better for it and the extra trip is a plus. BRITISH BONNIE (9) did run a better race last time, albeit beaten seven lengths over the mile. Longer trip suits and heading the right way. TALK OF THE YARD (8) is fitter for two runs in and gets a chance to show something. SUGGESTED PLAY: Follow up on Malagarasi. |

TREVOR ROCHE MEMORIAL MAIDEN 1200m
Plenty of first starters engaged which makes it tricky to map, but we can assume a keen tempo. RECONNAISSANCE (1) hasn't raced since the winter but has shown enough to have on top. Made debut in town before another break, then raced only once over the winter with a fast finishing second here on the all-weather. Given plenty of time and presents on the back of a trial win. Jockey has a good strike-rate for this yard and looks ideally placed for a winning return. SWEET ISSY (6) is the only other to have raced and does look a danger. Placed on debut as a juvenile then returned from a break at Belmont and was safely held in tougher company. Fitter for it and this suits. Expected to run well. PERFECT SCORE (9) is a first starter by Per Incanto out of Perfect Dream. Trial winner and with blinkers on looks ready to run well. SPECIAL COUNSEL (5) is a gelding by Star Witness making debut for the Williams yard. Fourth in a trial and must be kept safe. MADAM OUQBA (7) is a three-year-old filly by Ouqba out of Ella Jean. Senior rider on and pay to watch for a move. SUGGESTED PLAY: Stay with Reconnaissance. |

SWITCHBOARDS WA MAIDEN 1200m
No surprise if the first starters played a key role in the tempo of the race with little speed on paper. BOUTIQUE BELLE (9) may have only run ninth on debut but the effort was full of merit. Drew off the track and went back to the tail but made good ground late in a tougher race than this. Better for the experience and expected to feature. APACHE ADIOS (6) crossed and led fresh, giving a sight before finishing fifth. Tried to do the same last time and finished fifth again over 1000m. Has better form over the 1200m and expected to lead and give a sight. SHEZASEER (7) wasn't far away over 1200m fresh then stepped to 1400m and was back and wide and finished midfield. Back in trip and will find this easier so worth another try. TAKE A LEAF (11) is on debut. By Long Leaf and hails from the Tom Wolfe stable. Placed at her most recent trial and aided by the claim. Worth watching for a betting push. MAGIC CARATS (3) resumes and wasn't too far away when last fresh-up. Worth including. SUGGESTED PLAY: Give Boutique Belle another try. |

CUPRUM DISTILLERY - SOUTH WEST STORMY MAIDEN 1200m
Solid tempo with Power To Rule possessing enough dash to find the front. PUBLICISE (11) was well held fresh then made a much improved run at Ascot when led and was run down late. Looks well placed here and is the one to catch. LONG LAUGH (2) has placed two of four starts and has been going well at big odds. On speed third two back at Belmont before finishing fourth and beaten only a length at Northam last time. Back up in trip and expected to go close. EXTREME RULER (1) is long overdue and has placed last three on end. Third here last time over seven furlongs and off a freshen should run well this company. MORE THEN HARD (4) had one run in first campaign which was better than it looked when ninth at Ascot over 1400m. Blinkers added for return and presents on the back of two trials. RED ZED (7) is an interesting first starter. Never raced but was in work in NZ with several trials then switched yards and has been trialling very well for new barn. Watch the betting closely. SUGGESTED PLAY: Stick with Publicise. |

SWAN DRAUGHT MAIDEN 1400m
A moderate tempo expected despite the big field. CAPRICIOUS RULER (8) was well fancied at Belmont Park on debut and after getting back, ran on well to finish seventh. Looks nicely placed here and better for it. Expected to measure up. WHO'S TALKING (6) was fair fresh then ran a much improved race last time over this journey when not far from the winner. Has a wide gate but looks close to getting off the mark. PURE SILVER (11) turned in an eye-catching run when fresh from a break, finishing runner-up at Northam. Tricky gate but fitter again and should feature with a repeat effort. KING OF MUSTER (3) made good ground on debut to place, then tackled a tougher race and was shuffled back to the tail and made ground late without threatening. Forgive that run and gets chance to bounce back. FLAG HIGH (14) is a debutante by Starspangledbanner out of Cuthbert. From a huge family of winners and has had plenty of trials. Blinkers are on and off the inside draw is worth watching. SUGGESTED PLAY: Stay with Capricious Ruler. |

TABTOUCH - HAVE YOU GOT THE TOUCH HANDICAP 1200m
Fire The Lot and Le Beau can be prominent. FIRE THE LOT (2) looks hard to beat here fresh. Showed plenty of ability on debut at Pinjarra over the winter with a determined win in what has proven a hot form race. Given plenty of time and two easy trials. Will ride the speed here and should go close. SKYTALKER (1) looks the danger fresh. Form is better than it looks and good for this level. Resumed last time in with a placing at Northam and has placed 3/5 while fresh. Fitter for a trial and won't get a better chance to return to winning form. QUICK AS SILVER (4) was a winner three back then not far away last two. Will be on speed and with the claim is a definite winning chance. ORKNEY LAD (6) was a maiden winner in easier company last time when led throughout. Tougher assignment but will take catching. BOSISTO (3) is going better than it looks and has the blinkers added. Worth including. SUGGESTED PLAY: Follow up on Fire The Lot. |

MGIB HANDICAP 1200m
Genuine pace with Sanctions taking up the running ahead of Win To Retire and Zippy Zany. Sticking with the progressive GALWAY SHAWL (4). Was a debut winner here at the 1000m then stayed that trip last time at Belmont Park and ran on late to finish fifth. Looks suited out in journey now and hard to beat this line-up. ZIPPY ZANY (1) is fairly consistent and looks a danger. Close-up fifth over further two back then beaten a nose last time at Northam over 1300m. Has the claim and will be on speed. ROSIE CAN RUN (7) doesn't win out of turn and might want further but has the ability to run well here fresh. Hasn't raced since being tested in the Listed Belmont Oaks. Has run some good races this trip and expected to be winding up hard. MA MA BELLE (5) raced on speed fresh and finished fifth in a fair return. Fitter for it and can do much better. SANCTIONS (2) gave a sight fresh then weakened in the same race as Galway Shawl. Fitter again and can give a sight. SUGGESTED PLAY: Give Galway Shawl another chance. |

JOIN THE CLUB - BECOME A MEMBER HANDICAP 1705m
From the outside gate Worcester can push forward and take up the running in the absence of a genuine leader. Tough race to finish with the majority coming off last start failures. SNIP OF GOSSIP (5) has an excuse at least having pulled up lame last start when at the tail over a mile at Northam. Form prior was good for this and gets chance to atone. SIDE SHOW (13) also had good form going into last start then finished at the tail at Belmont. Doesn't win out of turn but well placed here and should be winding up late if back on track. RUNFORROB (6) was a winner here two back then gave away too big a start in town and never in it. INVINCIBLE RUBY (2) is been going better than it looks. Has been run off her legs and getting home hard when the race is all over this time in. Steps out in trip now and can run into the finish. WORCESTER (1) has been mixing form lately but did win only try here at a similar distance and gets chance to atone. SUGGESTED PLAY: Give Snip Of Gossip another try. |
