NUM TIME COMMENT
1 02:10 COROWA CHAFF MILL COUNTRY BOOSTED MAIDEN PLATE 1300m
Commanding Shadow is the probable leader in the small field. Very weak field with the exception of NEESON (6) who charged home late to get up for second when resuming over 1100m at Nowra last start. Beautifully placed over an extra furlong and this looks his race to lose. COMMANDING SHADOW (1) is a 14-start maiden who found 1000m a bit slick at Balranald last time. Led and just failed to hang on over 1200m at Wagga Riverside three back - poses a threat if he finds that form. INSTIGATE (7) has showed pace but failed to finish off in her three runs to date, all in shorter races. Less pressure today so might offer a bit more in the final stages. LAUNCH MODE (3) resumes. Has been in the money seven times so isn't hopeless. Will be better for this run but can sneak into the frame. Hard to see the others making any waves.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Neeson to win but will be short. Standout trifecta 6 from 1-3-7.
2 02:45 VALE BRIAN SCOLYER MAIDEN HANDICAP 1600m
Looks a keen contest with Burning Sensation and Cayman Island pressing for the lead with Highland Lad and Lull Us Away close at hand. CAYMAN ISLAND (3) looks the one in a very shallow maiden. Led and gave a kick but conceded late over 1500m at Albury last start. Only needs to hold that performance level to be opening his account. HIGHLAND LAD (1) is back to a more suitable trip after failing to run out 2100m at Orange last time. Has placed over this distance and his best figures make him very competitive. LULL US AWAY (8) went from 1100m to 1500m at Albury last start and was only beaten 2.2 lengths in a respectable effort. Good each-way hope here if she can reproduce that form. BLACK FROST (2) was easily accounted for on debut at Wodonga last time. Can improve over a bit more ground today. TALLINGAS PETEY (4) lines up for just the third time and can feature on a seven-day turnaround.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Cayman Island to win.
3 03:25 PICKLED SISTERS CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1400m
Solid tempo with several going forward headed by Colombiano. RENTESSIS (1) is a promising four-year-old who started favourite when fresh from a spell last start over 1300m at Bendigo bit just came up short after working home well. Nicely placed over an extra 100m and with a cosy run assured from an inside gate he looks a great chance to make it two wins from just three starts. COLOMBIANO (8) took control a fair way out and kept going for a soft maiden win over 1175m at Albury last time out. Yet to prove herself over this trip but she is going a lot better this campaign and should run it out. SHOWRATA (10) disappointed last start but was an excellent third over this distance at Wagga two back. In the mix if he brings his right form. THEO FIVE (11) returned in good order at Wodonga last time and will appreciate an extra furlong today. HELLBERG (2) seems to prefer this way of going so expect a better run today.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on Rentessis.
4 04:05 BEERS AND BIRDIES DASH MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
Strong tempo, primarily from Eyewhykaywhykay and Showtime Kistena. CALAIS BLISS (8) stalked the leader then tried very hard but was denied by a long neck when resuming over 900m at Albury last start. Has failed to fire beyond a first-up run in three tries to date but that return marked a career-high performance so she looks to be back better than ever. LORD LIMERICK (7) was backed from 3.1 to 2.5 on debut over 900m at Albury nine days ago but after racing wide could only manage fourth. Draws the fence this time and gets an extra 100m which is ideal. Big chance to open his account. EYEWHYKAYWHYKAY (9) has not raced since showing pace then weakening on debut over 1175m at Albury six months ago. Placed in a recent jump-out so worth monitoring for market support. FORTE CHEVAL (2) went well last start and is a chance with winkers on for the first time. INDUCTION (3) has been well found in early markets and is worth keeping safe on debut.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Calais Bliss each-way.
5 04:40 FEDERATION STAKES- CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1000m
Small field but a good tempo is expected with You're Two Vain, Baggage Handler and Bridie's Luck pressing on. OVER YONDER (5) bounded for a few strides at the start and lost all chance last time out in a run worth overlooking. Has trialled satisfactorily since. Handy on his day and can put in some big final splits so watch for him finishing over the top. BRIDIE'S LUCK (8) resumes and has won here at this trip before. Beaten narrowly first-up last prep over this distance at Tatura in a BM64. In the mix if she finds that form. YOU'RE TWO VAIN (1) is back for a second campaign after a most impressive maiden prep. Raced just twice and led all the way on both occasions to score by an aggregate of eight lengths. Early favourite and if back in good shape can keep the run going. BAGGAGE HANDLER (6) returns from a 136-day absence. Generally performs well when fresh and a couple of sound recent jump-outs should have him up to the mark. TALUK (7) is going well but is a few lengths better on wet ground.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Over Yonder worth a small wager at odds.
6 05:15 NAUGHTIN DEVELOPMENTS BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1600m
Keith to take charge ahead of Zabellsareringing at a solid tempo. A few key runners come out which opens this up for SWITCH HIT (3). Found a good track for only the second time in his career recently and was far too good over this distance at Bendigo. Finds a similar race today and can repeat the dose. SHEER LUNACY (1) did a great job to score under 61kgs last Monday. Won here over this distance at the only attempt. After the claim looks well placed to run another big race. SAINT LOFT (7) has lost his way a bit since a tough first-up win at the Wagga Riverside. Back in trip last start which wasn't ideal. On a seven-day back-up and goes well at the mile so can bounce back. KEITH (4) is fitter for two runs back from a spell. Has raced nine times over this distance for a couple of wins and five minor placings. Sure to give a good account. WINNING WITNESS (10) gets a couple of key gear changes and is in the mix on a seven-day turnaround.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Switch Hit to win.
7 05:55 CARLTON UNITED BREWERIES COUNTRY BOOSTED BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1300m
Keen battle for the lead with Astunner, Ti Tree Royal and Jaskier in advance of Tycoon Artie and Menzah One. New Mick Travers acquisition MENZAH ONE (2) ran a better race last start at the second run of the campaign, closing well to finish third over this distance at Canberra in a Class 1. Tested at stakes level last prep under the McEvoys in Adelaide. Has his share of weight but with further improvement might be too good for these. LIGHT FOOT (3) worked home well without threatening first-up over 1175m at Albury. Led all the way to win at this stage last prep over today's course and distance. Has a nice sense of timing about this appearance. ASTUNNER (1) has thrived under new mentor Darrell Burnet this prep. Great effort to be beaten just a length in a BM74 over 1200m at Wagga Riverside most recently. Big weight to contend with but should run well again. JASKIER (8) continued his good recent form with a close fourth over 1200m at Echuca last start. Is a winner at this trip and looks sure to be thereabouts again. TYCOON ARTIE (4) can improve third-up over an extra 100m.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Menzah One in a decent race to close proceedings.
