Maiden Race 1150m
SMART TEMPEST (12) was well in commission last time out but after being in the firing line on the turn didn't live up to market expectations, finishing fourth over 1400m at Chukyo Dirt. This looks a nice race so expect him to be right in the finish. TARTE POIRE (14) is a three-start maiden who is knocking on the door, the latest effort a solid second at Nakayama Dirt over 1200m after being prominent at the bend. Getting better with each appearance so anticipating another big run. MEISHO HODAWARA (13) finished 2.25 lengths from the winner in fifth last start after being prominent at the turn over 1200m at Hanshin Dirt, an improvement on her first-up 14th the run before. Likely improver with strong prospects. PASSION DIVA (15) finished second last time over 1200m at Hanshin Dirt, beaten 3 lengths. Will trim down following recent racing. Placed to advantage and can fill another top-three spot. |

Maiden Race 1200m
DEBORAH (7) turned in a good effort when narrowly defeated last time at Chukyo over 1200m. Progressive filly who should race up on the speed. Looks ready to win. MIZUIRO HORTUS (13) is very fit after three runs back from a spell, the latest a second over 1200m at Chukyo. Has good early toe so she should be handy in the run. Best figures should see her run well. MEISHO MATILDA (4) raced once in the maiden preparation when fifth at Kokura over 1200m back on January 26. Worth following up this time in work. LUAS CAILIN (6) has not raced since her debut on January 26 over 1200m at Kokura when she finished sixth, beaten 3.5 lengths. Should be thereabouts. |

Finds a suitable race and looks a great chance to finally break through. Has her share of talent. Hard to beat in this suitable race. THE HUNT (14) finished third as favourite last time out over 1700m at Kokura Dirt, making it two minor placings in succession. Has a tricky draw to overcome but he has solid claims. HANAUMA BEACH (4) resumes from a spell of 11 weeks and impressed at both runs in the maiden campaign, finishing off with a minor placing over 1700m at Kokura Dirt. Expect he has come on over the break. Right in this. PIRANHA KISS (7) has raced twice. Was 14th on debut then clocked-in 0.8 lengths from the winner in second last time out over 1800m at Nakayama Dirt. Should be thereabouts again. |

Could only manage to finish tenth at the latest run over 1600m at Nakayama. Best form measures up so must be respected. WIN VERANO (6) has been kept fresh since sitting on the pace last time but fading to finish sixth over 1800m at Kokura seven weeks ago. Should camp just off the leaders. One to consider. RED STERN (7) closed last prep three-and-a-half months ago when he finished 15th over 1400m at Chukyo Dirt. Lightly raced colt with scope to improve. |

HIMESAYURI SHO 2000m

Suited by the smallish field and drop in grade. The one to beat. PREMIER SHIP (1) came from well back on the bend to score last time out over 2000m at Chukyo, his first win at career start five. Expected to be there at the business end. COSMO ANTHOLOGY (9) was quickly into stride and went on to score by half a length last time out over 2000m at Kokura. This looks a sterner test than last time but on his recent form he is right in contention.
