NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:28 BET365 MAIDEN PLATE 1400m
Miss Xtravaganza has good early speed and can set a decent tempo. EYES WIDE SHUT (10) was expected to win first-up and didn't finish off (vet cleared). He's in a top barn and has been unlucky not to have broken through. Has the first-time blinkers applied and is worth another chance. MISS XTRAVAGANZA (8) peaks off a nose defeat at Kilmore. Keeps improving and will go close. ITWASONLYAKISS (2) brought narrow defeats to Sale and made no impression on a soft track. Draws handier and a much better effort is likely. CAPTIVATING STORM (5) tacked 1400m for the first time and won't be far away. EIRE TO THE JUNGLE (1) has more to give second-up and maps well.  SUGGESTED PLAY: With Eyes Wide Shut.
2 01:11 FARM AND DIESEL MAIDEN PLATE 1100m
Tricky one to map with a number of first starters but over this trip there is good speed anticipated. SWEET CITY DANCER (10) jumped at big odds but spiked his figures, beaten a whisker at Ballarat. There was nothing fluky about the effort, and she looks capable of going back-to-back. IMMORTAL JOY (8) jumped out well and wasn't beaten far first-up. She's in a top barn and has more to give. Maps to get every chance. BRILLIANT EIGHT (1) has a handy 3kg claim and peaks. Has the blinkers on for the first time, and he may find the extra required. PINERO (9) resumes with a 2kg claim and has jumped out well. She's likely to come back better. CADFAEL (2) debuts and profiles well. Has been well prepared, and the betting will be key.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Sweet City Dancer.
3 01:41 KERANG PLUMBING AND PUMPS BM52 HANDICAP 1100m
Solid tempo headed by Bokeem and Love For Us. BANANA SPLIT (7) ran his best race when beaten a nose at Ararat and then didn't finish it off at Donald. She comes back in grade in a winnable contest and gets another chance. ZEPHYR WINGS (6) just missed at Geelong and again following on the synthetic. He also finds easier and is sure to go close. PAMMY JOY (10) found better form at Sale and is still well shy of her best. Draws awkwardly, but the 2kg claim assists. Respect the stable. BOKEEM (2) may be the next best.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Banana Split.
4 02:16 THE GANNAWARRA BM64 HANDICAP 1100m
Looks a keen contest with Snappy Tycoon and Rutilant pressing for the lead with Melidesh and Whitson close at hand. MELIDESH (3) just missed heavily bet at Geelong, and the money came again at Ballarat on the synthetic, and he delivered a 58. He can use the inside gate and can win again for a top stable. WHITSON (9) disappointed as favourite at Kilmore, but his Maiden win at Terang prior stacks right up. Draws better and is worth another chance. WRITTEN ROYALTY (7) missed a lip at Sale and has switched yards on a 7-day return. He's going well enough to feature. SNAPPY TYCOON (1) has been around the mark since the all-the-way win at Ararat. Maps well and can make the finish. LESCOT (2) resumes and has a 2kg claim and an inside barrier. Has prepared well and is a betting watch.  SUGGESTED PLAY: With Melidesh.
5 02:51 PETER WALSH MP BM58 HANDICAP 1400m
Limbering has good early speed and can set a decent tempo. RELEASE THE BRAKES (8) was narrowly beaten at Benalla this trip, following a solid run at Kyneton. Has a handy 2kg claim today and can keep improving for a top stable. LUCKY COMPASS (3) was straight back into the winner's stall delivering this grade on the synthetic. Has an awkward gate but is capable of going back-to-back. THINKHARDANDFAST (5) resumes and can come back further improved. Maps well and has shown enough to consider. SLATE RIPPER (2) has a 4kg claim, and no surprise to see quick improvement.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Release The Brakes appeals most.
6 03:30 J & M CHASER BINS BM52 HANDICAP 1800m
Pace only fair with The Stock Route rolling to the lead ahead of Galpin and Scodelario. GALPIN (12) raced well in Adelaide and then was narrowly beaten at Kyneton over this trip. Raced favourite in that and draws inside again. On a 9-day return, and is the one to beat. LAYBUY (3) is a lot better than the form line suggests. Three back, he was only beaten 2.4L in a 78 in Adelaide, and he rolls up here on a quick backup. Will race forward, and the extra metres suit. REAL ALLIANCE (11) peaks today, and was only beaten 1.5L at Kilmore last time. Finally draws an inside gate and has to be kept onside. MISCHINKA (4) has a 4kg claim but has been racing well short of her best. Expect the veteran to be around the mark in this lineup.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Galpin appeals most.
7 04:10 cluBarham Kerang Cup 1800m
A solid tempo on the cards with Independent Road taking charge. INDEPENDENT ROAD (1) is deep into his preparation but finds the right race. Will find this more suitable than a 100 at Moonee Valley and led when missing a lip at Stony Creek prior. He has a handy 2kg claim and is in the right stable. Has a ratings edge and just has to put his best foot forward. STAR BUYER (3) deserved the Open win at Gundagai this trip, and keeps improving. Finally draws an inside barrier and is the threat. OFF THE DEEP END (6) brings strong form from easier, and races handy. He can make the finish. THE NEPHEW (2) has ability but has to come back 1200m freshened. It's an ask, but he's worth keeping onside.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Hard to go past Independent Road.
8 04:46 Greenhill Engineering BM52 HANDIACP 1800m
Genuine tempo from Miss Himalaya leading Couldbefamous. Weak. JAYZEAL (5) spiked up in great style, narrowly beaten at Kilmore. He's back to his best, and the extra distance suits. Holding the form, he's the one to beat. HERE WITH ME (4) just missed at Kyneton over this distance and that effort would have him right in this contest. WHISTLER GIRL (7) is hard to catch but wasn't beaten far on the synthetic last time and has turf figures to match. DUBAI LEGEND (2) is super consistent and deserves a win. He's some hope. ELOPED (11) mixes the form, but three back was beaten 3.6L in a 70 at Moonee Valley. Has a 2kg claim and should be around the mark.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Jayzeal appeals most.
