THE HUNTER MEDIA CO F&M MAIDEN PLATE 1500m
Without an obvious leader, it may be left to Hell's Vixen, Flying Chevrolet and Kilkenny to control the tempo. KILKENNY (6) delivered a solid midfield result first up and finds a contest with less depth. Senior rider and ideal draw only adds to the appeal. Rates on top. FLYING CHEVROLET (2) is building into her form this campaign against genuine opposition. Up further in trip with a low draw must be taken seriously. STAR TAURI (3) settled a mile back on debut passing a few late. Strips fitter and this is an easier assignment. HELL'S VIXEN (4) produced her best career effort to date last start when second at Orange. Penny perhaps starting to drop. SUGGESTED PLAY: Kilkenny win. |

RAINMAKER BUSHFIRE SPRINKLERS CG&E MAIDEN PLATE 1500m
Moderate tempo headed by Okami Star. AFLOAT (3) had nothing go his way first up off a long spell when soft in betting. Has placed at this longer trip previously and finds a track that should suit. Another chance. JUAN PABLO (6) impressed on debut before getting lost in the ruck in a big field last start. Rising in trip has genuine claims in this line up. IRISH JIG (5) was far from disgraced last campaign in handy maidens. Two recent trials have been spot on and looks set to hit the ground running. OKAMI STAR (7) was tough first up and should be suited by a longer trip. Drawn to be prominent from the outset. SO SUAVE (9) failed to impress in a summer debut and resumes as a gelding off a quiet trial. Definite improver SUGGESTED PLAY: Afloat win. |

HAPPY 90TH BIRTHDAY ROY OLIFF MIDWAY CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1000m
A hot tempo is expected with plenty of speed engaged. SHE CONQUERS (2) lost no admirers first up and this trip is her go. Drawn to rattle and hum. QUARTZ LEGEND (1) got shortened up last start as an odds on pop in crazy time. Has trialled nicely since though and worth another chance. TESSY TEE (3) may need further than this but is a proven fresh horse. Recent trial suggests a productive campaign awaits. BETHSHEBA (5) scored a deserved maiden win last start and is a natural speed horse. Can measure up. SUGGESTED PLAY: She Conquers win. |

BETTY & NOEL MALLON SUPER 2YO MAIDEN HANDICAP 1400m
Good speed anticipated with a large representation of first starters lining up. JUST A JOURNEY (13) impressed on debut beaten less than a length into third place. Slightly up in trip should pay to follow. COSTABIT (2) was solid on debut in a city maiden at a similar trip. With natural improvement holds a strong hand. ONE STEP CLOSER (10) is doing plenty right at the trials and drawn ideally. Each way hope on debut. WENTWORTH FALLS (15) has had two trials and race day experience to fall back on. Could easily surprise. SUGGESTED PLAY: Just A Journey win. |

TRISTAN PAYN CONDITIONAL BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP 1300m
Plenty of pace with Zousain Bolt and Invade And Conquer up front, pressured by Tartana and Wild Gypsy. ZOUSAIN BOLT (10) is building a solid record from just ten starts. Puts himself into the race early and fitness no issue. Profiles well in this grade. TARTANA (3) comes through strong races of late and draws ideally on her home track. Proven track and trip galloper with genuine claims. READY TO SHINE (2) was good first up and showed he’s an early prep type of horse last time in. Senior rider retained and tackles a longer trip from the pole draw. PRESIDES (5) has kicked off his latest campaign well. Placed here fresh before winning at Newcastle. Key chance. SUGGESTED PLAY: Zousain Bolt win. |

ILLAWARRA RSL SUB-BRANCHES PROVINCIAL MAIDEN HANDICAP 1300m
Without a great deal of early pace evident Kuwait may lead the way over Justice Please. WEST HEAD (1) was close-up in all three runs last campaign and resumes off two solid trials. Race experience a big advantage in this. Hard to go past. EGYPTIAN’S REWARD (10) found a hot race in a spring debut and resumes on home ground after a recent trial win. Poorly drawn but capable of a cheeky showing fresh. NAUGHTY SORT (9) has shown enough at the trials to keep safe with a genuine light weight. Suggest a market watch on debutant HELICONIA (8). Trial win here on March 24 was encouraging. SUGGESTED PLAY: West Head win. |

CITY OF WOLLONGONG RSL SUB-BRANCH GALLIPOLI CUP BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP 1200m
Anticipate Let's Go Again, Jinsoku and Ronny Rock Art to set a strong tempo. LET’S GO AGAIN (9) has been thereabouts in two strong races coming into this. Back on home patch has genuine appeal. DIVINE VICKY (8) looks well weighted for a mare dropping back in grade. Two time winner at this venue with conditions to suit. HEADSTOCK (6) has had no luck with barrier draws at his past three starts but still finished close-up. On home soil with a cute draw can improve. DASHING RUPERT (1) had every chance second up and gets no weight relief. Upside type still in the mix. SUGGESTED PLAY: Let’s Go Again win. Box quinella 9, 8, 6. |

PETER POULTON AM MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 64 HANDICAP 1500m
Expecting Valiant Bomb to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. SQUEEZEBOX (6) warmed to the task nicely late first up and a middle distance assignment suits. Has the right form lines to run well. LAST COMMAND (2) streaked home first up into minor money and should lap up the extra trip. Despite a sticky draw can pay to follow. MISS SPACEGIRL (13) is on trial at this trip but peaking third up. Has the talent to play a big role. ZIPITALIST (8) is now back to near career best form but does cop a stench draw. Will be running on late. HYPERBOLIC (10) gets the blinkers and a senior rider on. Latest run puts her in the mix. SUGGESTED PLAY: Squeezebox each way. |
