RAY WHITE BATEMANS BAY, MORUYA AND ULLADULLA MAIDEN PLATE 1010m
Little early speed on offer so Prairie Legend should be prominent. DOWNTOWN BAR (5) was in the money first-up at the Sapphire Coast then failed badly on a heavy track at the same venue last time. Meets a very thin field today and can bounce back on firmer footing. CONSORTING ONE (4) struggled to make ground when fresh from a spell in heavy going at the Sapphire Coast last time out. Nicely in with the claim and is open to improvement. SMASHING LULU (8) is back from a four-month spell. Wasn't beaten far on debut over this trip at Queanbeyan last prep. In the mix with a repeat of that effort. ITALIAN DIVA (6) is an Exceedance filly on debut for Theresa Bateup. Placed in a recent Kembla trial. Has found a soft assignment to launch her career. SUGGESTED PLAY: Downtown Bar on top in a lowly maiden. |

HARCOURTS BATEMANS BAY CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1010m
Good tempo with several going forward, primarily Throw One In, Seeking To Win and Sogeri. BACK IN A TIK (2) returns from a ten-month spell. Opened last prep with a second at Queanbeyan before posting a big maiden win at Nowra. Gets in well after Bradley's claim and if forward enough can test this field. THROW ONE IN (5) finally broke the maiden at the twenty-fourth attempt last time out over this trip at the Sapphire Coast. Has placed four times here on home soil. Should go on with the job. SEEKING TO WIN (3) resumed following a six-month break with a narrow win in a 900m Queanbeyan maiden recently. Lightly raced mare who is back in the best shape of her career and should run well again. CONSTANTINOU (4) last appeared when runner-up over this distance at Albury in a BM58 on 7 December. Good fresh performer who must be respected despite a lengthy win drought. SUGGESTED PLAY: Back In A Tik to win first-up. |

MONARCH HOTEL / MOTEL MORUYA CLASS 1 & MAIDEN PLATE 1650m
Without a great deal of early pace evident Awesome Icon may lead the way over Rockathon.
NAGADEC (5) won her maiden two back at the Sapphire Coast then got a mile out of her ground before closing in good style here at this trip last start, beaten under three lengths. Freshened up since that run seven weeks ago. Draws a better gate this time and looks well in on 57kgs against this opposition. MACHINATION (9) is a seven-start maiden who finished a distant third when tackling the mile for the first time a fortnight ago at the Sapphire Coast. Very fit gelding who will be better for that run. Looks a chance with the light weight out of the inside alley. FLASHY ICON (1) has found the line well in two runs over 1400m following a seven-week let-up. Is a winner here and on a seven-day back-up makes plenty of appeal. GREATESTOFEASE (4) has been underwhelming this time in work but drops in class today and gets a tongue tie on which may assist. LUNA LASS (8) is one to keep tabs on with the blinkers applied for the first time. SUGGESTED PLAY: Nagadec looks better than these. |

BATEMANS BAY SOLDIERS CLUB MAIDEN PLATE 1300m
Just a moderate tempo without an obvious speed influence. SENSATIONAL WIND (11) is the standout in a very plain affair. Started favourite but gave away too much start when runner-up over this distance at Canberra last start. Should settle close today from a nice draw. Only needs to hold her recent form to be taking this out. SUPERIOR FUN (7) is the only realistic danger on the back of an eye-catching second when resuming over 1209m at the Sapphire Coast last time out. Hard to know if the heavy track flattered her that day but she deserves the benefit of the doubt. STAR OF THE CLASS (6) ran on fairly to grab fourth in the same race as Superior Fun recently. Fitter for two runs back and the extra 100m today will assist. CONQUER THE DREAM (10) on debut for Joseph Ible is worth monitoring for market support. SUGGESTED PLAY: Sensational Wind to win. |

NAROOMA GOLF CLUB BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1425m
Genuine tempo with the speedy Rager leading the way. LYSANDER (2) won a similar race to this at Orange three runs back under 60kgs. Subsequently finished second at BM58 level at this track over 1650m before a forgivable failure in heavy going at the Sapphire Coast most recently. In the right race to return to winning form. BOUND TO FIRE (1) gets out to a more favourable journey after a couple of plain runs over 1200m to launch this campaign. Led all the way to win his maiden here at the end of last prep. Ready to improve. SPIELE (5) was beaten a long neck by Rager in a comparable race to this at the Sapphire Coast two back. Failed on a bog track over the mile last time but back under today's scenario she makes plenty of appeal. RAGER (7) won a BM50 at the Sapphire Coast two back over a similar trip. Leading contender with a repeat performance. NEVER LOSE FAITH (9) has been freshened up since a poor run in a BM58 here seven weeks ago. Veteran mare with a shocking strike rate but against this lot she holds value appeal. SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on Lysander. |

THE DOCK KINGSTON FORESHORE BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200m
Far Too Hot and Hidden Mogul have the pace to take up the running at a solid tempo. BEAU ROCK (5) scored a nice win in a BM50 over this trip at Sapphire Coast two runs ago, beating a couple of today's key rivals. Less effective last Saturday at Queanbeyan but a bad run at that circuit is always worth forgiving. Makes plenty of appeal on the seven-day turnaround. SASSEN (12) resumes. Opened last prep with a win at the Sapphire Coast. Cannot be ruled out with the help of a lovely draw. DIAMOND RIDGE (10) failed last start in a much stronger race at Canberra. Form before that was solid so she can bounce back. MERCHANT REIGN (7) meets Beau Rock 1.5kgs better for a 1.4 length defeat over this distance at the Sapphire Coast two back. Failed subsequently over 1300m at Canberra but back in the right race today he poses a genuine threat. SUGGESTED PLAY: Beau Rock to win. |
