NUM TIME COMMENT
1 12:45 Geelong Taxi Network Maiden Plate 1400m
Without a designated pacemaker it will probably turn into a dash home. SIGNORETTI (5) got back but was okay to the line at Ballarat on debut. Looked a run short, placing second behind Stay Cosmic at Cranbourne - and he's raced well in town since. The longer sprint suits, and he's ready to win. GABLE (3) resumed in Stake grade beaten 7L. They must have an opinion, and the tongue tie is applied. Presents fitter, and should be right in the finish. GRINZINGER TUNDRA (4) raced over this trip at Flemington on debut and will have come on. This suits better. CRACK A DEEL (1) debuted in good company at Geelong at long odds and was immediately tipped out. Resumes owning a Ballarat jumpout win, and John Allen is booked. A bold effort is on the cards.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Signoretti appeals most.
2 01:20 Roderick Insurance Brokers Maiden Plate 2200m
Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Smokin' Rohie. CECCHETTI (7) is Stakes-placed and second-up was narrowly beaten in a Ballarat Maiden as favourite. He's been gelded since and should relish the extra 200m. Has plenty up his sleeve and should have this field covered. JUDGE JENNI (10) is ready to win and steps up from a mile. Gives every indication she'll handle it and is the threat. Tougher sorting the rest, but KAVAL (3) may be the best of them. He's fit and races forward and may show more over this distance. LONG HOT NIGHT (8) is third-up with the winkers on and can get closer.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Cecchetti to win.
3 01:55 Ladbrokes Owners Bonus Maiden 1100m
Strong tempo with Linkvue, Runchickenrun and Controlled Zone leading the way. LINKVUE (5) led and found more like his best beaten a whisker at Yarra Valley. Fitter again and coming back 109m is sure to take stopping. CONTROLLED ZONE (3) also races forward and brings two narrow defeats. Raced a $2.30 favourite at Ballarat last time and is a threat. DENIAL (4) resumes and has the first-time blinkers applied. He's been off the scene 335 days, but has jumped out twice, and he's good enough. John Allen gets off the above to ride. SEDNA (10) debuts and won a recent jumpout at Geelong. Maps well, and a bold effort won't surprise.  SUGGESTED PLAY: With Linkvue.
4 02:30 Henry Longfellow at Rosemont Stud 2025 Maiden Plate 1300m
A distinct absence of early speed so don't expect any records to be broken. FETES DES MERES (11) impressed finishing close-up at Mornington before a break and resumed with a 1.4L defeat at Yarra Valley. Won a Mornington jumpout prior, and she can take this out with the extra fitness. FRENCH SAVOY (12) missed a whisker first-up and then raced a little flat, beaten 2L at Ballarat. She will be better for that, and a sharper effort is likely. RUSSIAN ESCAPE (2) resumes and has jumped out well at Flemington. He's had an issue, but he would be right in it if presented forward. HEAVENFIELD (13) is in a sharp barn and has the first time blinkers applied. Keep onside.  SUGGESTED PLAY: With Fetes Des Meres.
5 03:05 Farewell & Thanks Michael Chief Daly Handicap 1300m
Lots of speed predominantly from Sweet Cheval, Estrapaz and Anchor Down. SUGAR COAT (2) resumes for a leading stable and is promising. He's been fancied - and raced well - in rich contests, but has had throat surgery since last seen. He's jumped out well, and the early markets suggest he's ready to go. SNATCHED (8) resumed at Cranbourne and looked a run short. She has plenty up her sleeve and is proven second-up. She's also in good hands and is a threat. PREVAILED (3) was back to his best when narrowly missing at Kyneton second-up. He races forward and will take some stopping. ESTRAPAZ (1) resumed in stronger and needed it. He is good second-up, and the 3kg claim brings him into it. ANCHOR DOWN (6) showed better form delivering a Geelong Maiden in good style. Peaks now and keep onside.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Sugar Coat appeals.
6 03:45 Winki Energy Handicap 1100m
Hot tempo expected from Verdoux and Shooter Mcgavin. GRINZINGER SUN (8) brought promising efforts to resumption and belted the Bendigo Maidens by 2.5L from the pace. She was backed off the map and has more to offer. Jumps from the inside barrier and will get every chance. VERSAILLE (9) didn't come up last preparation, but she has plenty of ability. She was a dominant winner three back on debut and maps for a soft run. VERDOUX (1) resumes and has been unlucky not to have broken through. She draws inside and won her only fresh outing by a space. RICH LOVER (3) resumes and has won first-up. Has some nice pieces of form and should be in the mix.  SUGGESTED PLAY: With Grinzinger Sun.
7 04:25 Cottage by the Sea Cup 1700m
Revolver and Hoodys Horse are both expected to press forward and take it up. STAR CROUPIER (14) has threatened both starts this preparation and is ready to find her best. She will position herself forward from the inside barrier and get every chance. REVOLVER (7) went close at Bendigo first-up at the mile and is further improved. Maps for a soft on-pace run, and has winning claims. STARDEALT (8) peaks off a string of narrow defeats with the latest in Adelaide over 2000m. He's been kept on the fresh side and deserves another chance. SIGNOR BILL (10) is genuine, and this isn't beyond his reach.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Star Croupier each-way.
8 05:03 Geelong Taxi Network Handicap 1500m
Mcadam and Son Of Grace possess good early speed and will set a genuine tempo. MCADAM (5) keeps getting better and followed the comfortable Maiden win at The Valley with a 0.4L defeat there as favourite, at this level. He has been kept on the fresh side and can bounce back into the winner's circle. SALCHOW (7) is a genuine galloper threatening a win. Went close at Ballarat last time and is an each-way hope. FLASHBANG (4) is also racing well. Maps for an advantageous run, and the in-form John Allen is aboard today. GOVERNOR KING (3) resumes and is good enough at best. He's jumped out well and has won fresh. The betting will be key. ARIZONA ACTIVIST (1) resumes and has jumped out well. He flies first up and they have scratched a fancied stablemate.  SUGGESTED PLAY: Backing Mcadam to win.
