Corvalist has good gate speed and should be able to cross and vie for early honours.
AHOY (3) is a new addition to the Luke Pepper yard and returns from a 38-week break. Good fresh performer with two placings and a fourth from three tries. Drawn to enjoy the run of the race and is talented enough to make an immediate impact. GLAMSTAR (8) ran a better race last start when lining up for the second time, looming up on straightening before tiring late to be beaten 4.1 lengths over 1200m at Tamworth. Sure to play a big role in this weaker maiden. CORVALIST (1) resumed after a seven-month spell and recorded his fifth minor placing from six starts when a distant third over 1200m at the Beaumont track last time out. Placed second-up at Scone last prep which is good form for a race of this quality. SMART ATTACK (12) has been well held at both runs this prep but with added fitness could work home into the frame. SHAMIC (10) for Kris Lees has been freshened up and can do better. SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen on Ahoy.
