Expecting a strong gallop with Quamby and Charcoal Annie taking up the running. Tough. SPANGLED SIPPER (13) found Listed grade too tough in Adelaide but brought strong metro form to that and has since just missed at Kyneton over 1856m. Came from the back and it was a good effort. No surprise to see her push forward today and with average luck should go close. BUDDONG (12) went well twice in Listed grade in Tasmania over this trip and came back to 1500m at Ballarat last time. She's up to this and is capable of fighting out the finish. EASY ROAD (8) disappointed at Cranbourne (vet cleared). Brought solid form to that and Yendall is a key jockey booking. Maps for a soft run and is worth another chance. ANGEL (2) has been racing in stronger and will be a chance discounting the Ballarat effort last time. Has the handy 2kg claim and the blinkers on for the first time. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Spangled Sipper.
