ARTISTIC GENIUS (2) won easily at Ballarat two runs back then looked a shade disappointing last start in a Class 2 over this trip in Adelaide. Helped by the claim and should box-seat from gate one so expect him to bounce back. MACHINIST (1) surprised most when he got the cash first-up here at this trip recently. Lightly raced gelding who is building a decent record and shouldn't be underestimated again. Neasham brings DIAMOND CITY (9) to Victoria to launch this prep. Some doubts over her fitness as she hasn't raced since April 2023. Watch the betting. THAT CONTAGEOUS (3) is back from a brief spell. Didn't come up last prep but has won 2/4 when resuming so don't leave him out of calculations. ARROANCE (7) has been about the money of late. Drops sharply in the weights so might be a surprise packet at double-figure odds. SUGGESTED PLAY: Giving Artistic Genius another chance.
