Good tempo anticipated with Up The Anti and Awhina leading the way. UP THE ANTI (2) stepped up to 2100m for the first time this prep and finished a game runner-up after sharing the pace. He seems to be at his best when racing handy to the speed, and in a slightly lesser field, he can get the job done. WHATTHEMANSAW (8) has turned the corner with his racing, and followed up his impressive maiden win with another victory by a nose at Arawa Park just over 3 weeks ago. His form has improved since being put over more ground, and with 2.5kg less to carry here, the hat-trick beckons. RUSTY LANE (1) finished fourth as the favourite at Waverley last start, and he was a comfortable winner at Woodville before that. He has been placed racing in a clockwise direction in the past, and he has top 4 claims again. AWHINA (3) finished a sound fifth in the Rotorua Cup last start, and that form will hold up nicely in this company. Each way. CHARLBURY (10) fought on gamely for sixth off a tough trip at Ellerslie last start, and she is not the worst at odds in this. SUGGESTED PLAY: Charlbury each way value.
