Expecting Kerman Rock to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. HEMLOCK STONE (2) ran over the top to bolt in at this course and distance last time out. That was in Heavy going, but he had been trending the right way prior to that effort. Should get his chance again this time around and he can continue to work his way through the grades. SIMPLY (7) resumed with an impressive win at Pinjarra, running over the top to win by 0.3L. He now gets Pike in the saddle and suspect there's more to come from this lightly raced galloper. The rise in trip suits and he's expected to be doing his best work late in the race. IN GOOD ORDER (3) just missed first-up over 1300m here after getting to the Derby at the end of last campaign. Chris Parnham sticking is a positive sign and with improvement expected, he can make his presence felt in the finish. KERMAN ROCK (5) disappointed last start after a good fresh effort. He's better than that and can bounce back today. SUGGESTED PLAY: Hemlock Stone can win the last.
