With good speed engaged, a strong tempo is anticipated. TOTAL SURRENDER (10) ran a good race when third of eight over 2000m on the Standside course last time. He raced from a handy position and stayed on well at the finish. He has won twice and finished second once from four starts over this distance. With a bit of luck in the running can notch up his sixth-career victory. MAJESTIC PALACE (5) tried hard when finishing second of seven over 1600m on the Standside course last time in his second run this prep. He won his only attempt over this course and distance. He is likely to race up on the speed after jumping from his wide draw of 11 and racing in a fitter state may prove hard to peg back. KUDZU (11) has finished second in his last four starts, including last time out over 1600m at Turffontein Standside when well supported. He should appreciate the extra 200m on offer today and jumping from an inside draw rates well as a leading chance. QUATERMAIN (12) finished a close-up fourth of nine at this track over 2000m last start. Can place.
