GOING:

CAMP QUALITY CONVOY GEELONG 22/2 PACE 1609m

Track: GOOD   Rain (Max: 31)

YANKEE GAMBLER (2) had a tough draw on the second line at Melton last week so is much better served by this barrier. Had been racing very well prior with a string of top-two finishes including a win in a higher-graded race at Ballarat. Looks nicely placed and should get his chance. IM THE WILD ONE (7) scored a win over a similar distance at Bendigo last month and has been runner-up in two of three starts since, leading and sticking on to be beaten just over a metre by Yankee Gambler last time. Draws wide but is racing well. SPUN SILVER (3) led from wider when scoring at Shepparton last time and is a two-time winner at this circuit and distance. IAMAWINGATE (1) came from a wide barrier when beaten only 3.2m last start and is much better served by the ace draw. STAR RULER (5) had a tough draw on the back row last time but came from this barrier when leading to win at St Arnaud prior so is worth another chance.
