Good pace with Evies First, First Origin and Gimme's Laddie matching motors. GIMME'S LADDIE (3) is much better than his last start run would suggest as he was reported to be not striding out. He would have come on from the run and should strip much fitter. He has won twice over this course and distance. He is the stable elect with Craig Zackey in the saddle and can return to winning form. KARANGETANG (8) moved up like a winner over 1000m at Turffontein last time but was outrun late. It must be noted that the horse that finished third that day has come out and won since. He is having his first run for the Alan Greeff stable and if settled into his new surroundings should prove hard to beat. EVIES FIRST (1) was an upset winner in his last start. It must be noted that the horse that finished second that day has come out and won since. If repeating that effort should be fighting out the finish.
