Reasonable tempo with a few going forward, headed by Strong Heart.
ARCHER COUNTY (2) has been in terrific form this winter and was too strong for a similar field at Port Hedland nearly 4 weeks ago when scoring by 2 lengths. He is in a good space and with a kilo less to carry this time, he can win again. ZEEWIJK (5) did not fire at Mount Newman last time out but he can be forgiven for a poor run at that track as it does trip up first-time visitors. The drop back to 1400m will do him no harm and he can return to form here. Each way. MOORUMBINE (4) has been experiencing a win drought but got to be within a nose of victory at Carnarvon 6 days ago, making it 3 second-place finishes in this last 4 starts. It is important to note that he has not missed a cheque in 2 starts on this track, including a win, and he can keep that record intact here. ROEY CLAM (6) is usually thereabouts and also has winning form on this circuit which is an advantage. He has a good draw and the extra furlong won't pose a problem. Stick with him on an each-way basis. SUGGESTED PLAY: Archer County to win.
