GOING: S(7)

ASAHI SUPER DRY HANDICAP 1250m

Track: SOFT 6   Rain (Max: 17)   Rail: +4m Entire.

Plenty of pressure from The Little General, Monte Veebee and Castlejohn battling for the lead over Cougars. RIVENDELL (3) found the front a long way from home then was swamped late to finish a close fourth when resuming over this course and distance last start. Lightly raced four-year-old who should tighten right up following that run and looks the testing material. HARRY'S EVIDENCE (6) started favourite and proved a shade too strong for The Little General when fresh from a spell over 1100m at this track last time out. Twice a winner at this distance so going up 150m holds no fears. Up in class but drops 2kgs and is a big chance again. MONTE VEEBEE (2) added to his long list of minor placings first-up recently in a comparable race to this. Placed four from four second-up and in the money at all six starts over today's trip. Each-way all day. CASTLEJOHN (5) started favourite and just got the cash when resuming over 1100m at Hawkesbury last start. Sparingly raced four-year-old with plenty more to come. THE LITTLE GENERAL (9) will run another bold race on a seven-day back-up. SUGGESTED PLAY: Rivendell each-way.
