Genuine tempo with Yiasou and Italus up front. SUNBURNT COUNTRY (7) improving gelding starting to hit his straps as he gets out in trip. Jumped in grade when he closed late to finish second at Canberra on the Acton track over 1750m. Gets the right run again and has solid winning claims. ITALUS (10) handy Wootton Bassett gelding racing well in his first campaign. Saluted here three-back over the 1400m on a heavy (9) surface. Found the 1400m too sharp last start when fourth at Goulburn in a fairly handy race. Capable of a better run today on the home track. Each-way. GODWITS (12) found some form at his last two outings and on the quick back-up after running second over 1700m at Carinda. Was a dominant winner over the 2200m at Dubbo two-back. Leading contender. OWN THEM (9) total forgive from the outside gate when he failed to get into the contest with a poor ninth over 2100m at Narrandera. Caught the eye two-back at Goulburn and gets a better set-up for this. SUGGESTED PLAY: Sunburnt Country brings the right ratings to take this out.
