Expecting Gold Earth to lead Last Tour at just a moderate tempo. THE CHAMPION (4) kept fresh for this after racing well on the provincial circuit. Just under six weeks between runs when taken to the front for a tenacious third with the 59kg over 1400m at Kembla Grange. Kept up to the mark with a trial win over 1175m at Warwick Farm. Can overcome the sticky gate in this very weak Maiden. LAST TOUR (3) dropped in grade with an improved fourth in the small field over 1300m at Goulburn. Maps well again with the claim and expected to go close. HIGHWAY ROBBERY (2) will be rock-hard fit now after he had genuine excuses from the wide gate when a fast-finishing fourth at Moruya in a Super Maiden. Can settle much closer and take a hand in the finish. ARGANTORATI (6) her two runs back have been better than they look and should appreciate the extra trip today. Can surprise at the good odds. SUGGESTED PLAY: The Champion has the class to overcome the wide gate.
