Pace strong with Comic Culture and Son Of Eureka leading with Talistiana nearby. COMIC CULTURE (2) is racing in career-best form and closed strongly after returning from a let-up with a narrow second over 1400m at Grafton in a solid rating contest. Winning rider hops back aboard and can be rewarded for his consistency today. YES SIREE (1) placed on the provincial circuit last prep and indicated he was near his top with an eye-catching second from near last on the turn over 1400m at Goulburn. Tempo suits and can play a leading role on the firmer track. SMICHOV (4) strengthened over the break with a tough Maiden win over the 1100m here on the heavy track. Up in class and trip with a tiring sixth over 1250m at Newcastle. Can hold a forward position and looks ready for this distance. Top-three contender. BRASS MONKEYS (5) had been racing okay before he failed to get through the soft (7) going when a fading tenth over 1400m at Goulburn. Open to improvement and no shock to see him bounce back quickly. SUGGESTED PLAY: Comic Culture looks hard to stop in this vein of form.
