Without a great deal of early pace evident Salina Special may lead the way over Untethered Soul.
SO VOGUE (2) has been freshened up since being eased up in a staying race at Cranbourne a month ago. Ran a couple of solid races over this trip to launch the campaign. Good enough to take care of a very plain bunch. VIVID BLOOMS (11) had every chance but failed to run out the 2000m at Penola last time. Lightly raced four-year-old who is perfectly drawn and can bounce back in this more suitable race. MIDNIGHT EAGLE (3) last raced when a close fourth over 1400m at Albury a month ago. Untried beyond that distance but his best figures read well in a race of this calibre. UNTETHERED SOUL (10) might have been looking for more ground when easily accounted for over 1400m at Kerang recently. Drawn well and McDougall takes over so a better run is on the cards. THUNDERBOLT WAY (6) is back from an 11-month lay-off. Bar set lower this prep so he might be more competitive this time around. SUGGESTED PLAY: So Vogue to break through.
