Dingle and Gangster Paradise possess good early speed. MY MATE TOM (2) settled worse than midfield then picked up nicely to grab second on debut over 1207m at Kilmore last start. Might race a pair closer today and over a little bit more ground looks the one they have to beat. SHALAAKEI (4) debuted in a much stronger maiden at Pakenham last time out and struggled to make inroads over 1200m. Draws a nice gate and will find this far easier so watch for a much better performance. GANGSTER PARADISE (1) last appeared when he just missed the placings as favourite on debut over 1100m at Ararat in November. Two recent trials should have him ready to make a positive return. APPLE EYES (5) returns from a five-month break. Bets of three runs in the maiden prep was a 0.5 length defeat over today's distance at Wangaratta. Trialling well and is good enough to test this field. LADY OF BRONTE (9) wasn't too far away in a tougher maiden at Cranbourne on debut. Should the thereabouts again. SUGGESTED PLAY: Keen to be with My Mate Tom.
