NOONDAY GUN (1) is an accomplished stepplechaser better for his first-up outing in Stakes grade over 2600m at Flemington. Went well in a steeples trial before that and second-up last time won a Sandown-Lakeside hurdle over 3400m. Carries top weight, but 2x-winning rider Ryan continues his association, and a bold run is anticipated. BAZINI (4) has been well prepared and placed over 3200m first up in a Hamilton steeplechase. Keeps Pateman and is sure to have come on from that. INSTIGATOR (2) trialled well over 3200m at Hamilton off two flat runs this preparation. Ready for his return to steeplechasing, and he has the ability to feature. No surprise to see more from RAISE THE NOTE (8) today. Placed at Terang last time he tackled the brushes and gets in well with the 3kg claim. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Noonday Gun.
