Genuine tempo with Steve Barows leading the way. HO O SAMRET (9) resumes. Raced once last prep 11 weeks ago when he finished hard from back in the field to get up for fourth over 1600m at Tokyo Dirt. A bold showing is expected while fresh. EMERGENCE (1) produced a good effort last start when third over 1700m at Hakodate Dirt to make it three minor placings from five starts this preparation. Should position just off the lead and play a big part in the finish. SERIO VELOCE (14) is a three-start maiden who could only manage to finish sixth after being prominent at the bend at his latest appearance over 1800m at Hakodate. Cannot be ruled out in this suitable assignment. DU MAVERICK (4) was close to a maiden win before a four-month break, finishing off with a placing over 1800m at Nakayama Dirt. Can pick up where he left off.
