Not much early speed of note and Skeptical and Comancheria may find themselves setting a steady tempo. SUGAR ISLAND (7) has his hoof on the till third up from the low draw. Placed over this trip and was strong through the line when second over 1240m at Ipswich. Adept in all going and looks to have found his race. COMANCHERIA (2) comes up from Victoria and is now in the Jane Clement yard. Kept fresh for this and back sharply in trip after disappointing when seventh over 2050m at Wodonga. Finished second at Moonee Valley four runs back over the mile and gets weight relief with the claim. Each way player. JU TWO (4) lightly raced gelding who shouldn't be a maiden for long. Resumed for his second prep with a gritty on pace second over 1250m at Taree in the heavy (10) conditions. A repeat of that will see him go close. HOMELAND (3) comes here in peak condition and is due for a change of luck. Will appreciate a firmer surface after gripping on late when fourth over 1435m at Grafton. Fitter now and the visors go on. SUGGESTED PLAY: Sugar Island to get off the mark.
