Promising Australian filly RIPPLES (3) crosses the Tasman having impressively won her two starts to date. Worked to the front from a wider barrier before cruising home in a Gold Tiara heat on debut then raced three wide without cover when toughing out a brilliant win the Group 1 final. Hails from a leading Victorian yard and can take full advantage of the good draw. THE QUEENS GAMBIT (1) took advantage of this draw when scoring at this circuit and distance last time. That was just her second start so while this is stronger she has scope for further improvement. ALECTO (6) progressed off a debut second to post a G3 win at Addington last start. Draws wider but has upside so it may pay to stick with her. RIVER (9) can progress off a nice debut.
