GOING: G

TABTOUCH THE NULLARBOR (G1) MS PACE 2536m

Track: GOOD

A good draw should give MINSTREL (4) his chance. His campaign has been crafted to have him peaking for this race, coming from this barrier for a fresh win in the Pinjarra Cup before a brave second after working in the Mount Eden Sprint. Kept fresh since but races well that way and he should be able to get to the front. That would see him hard to get past. Star pacer SWAYZEE (10) crosses from the east with a stacked resume including two New Zealand Cups and a Hunter Cup victory over Leap To Fame earlier this year. He starts alone on the back row so Hart will have options and should have him out and rolling toward a forward position. Loves a staying test and represents the class factor. MISTER SMARTEE (7) is the up and comer and last week's second should have topped him off. Has a fine record at this longer distance so should be in the finish. Last year's winner CATCH A WAVE (9) cops the outside draw but last week's win over Mister Smartee suggests he has returned in even better order.
