Expecting Schnoots to take up the lead at a genuine tempo. SCHNOOTS (4) has stronger formlines than most leading into this and was a game third at Pinjarra 16 days ago. She has been trying to win a race for a long time but a repeat of that last start effort would see her winning a race like this. On top. SLOGITSON (3) ran his best race yet when finishing second by a short head at Carnarvon 6 days ago over 1000m. The extra 400m should suit him and with the right run, he could go one better this time. KING OF FRANCE (1) has improved since joining a new stable 4 starts ago and finished fourth as favourite at Broome a fortnight ago over 1300m. The extra 100m will be in his favour as will the pole position. His first win is not far away. MEXICAN QUEEN (6) had to work hard from a wide draw to find the front at Carnarvon last start and whacked away to hold third once headed in the run home. She strips fitter second-up and from a superior gate, she could take them all the way this time. SUGGESTED PLAY: Schnoots to win.
