With no recognised leader engaged it might be left to Hellfest and Scorched Earth to control the tempo. Tricky little race. HELLFEST (3) won the G3 Typhoon Tracy at Moonee Valley last preparation before struggling on heavy ground in Sydney. She's trialled well for this and is a strong winning chance. SHE'S ALL CLASS (4) had her first run for the new stable here over 1200m, making good ground behind a talented mare. She drops back to 1100m when it looked like she may need more ground which is the issue. THRONTARI (7) was a dominant winner here over 1200m last start, winning by 2.5 lengths. A repeat of that effort should see her measure up. SCORCHED EARTH (2) was a bit plain first up in the listed Lightning Stakes but her best form goes close and she may be worth another chance. SUGGESTED PLAY: Hellfest on top.
