Genuine pace with Fire And Gemstone taking up the running ahead of Stasera and Direct Affect.
HIS HONOUR (3) had his first run since returning to this stable last start over 1300m at Canberra and things didn't work out after the four-year-old was poorly away. Looking for this trip now and is good enough to mix it with these. Worth another chance. FELIX PEREON (1) has been freshened up since a most impressive win over 1300m at Goulburn on 24 March, coming from near the tail on cornering to score by a widening 2.8 lengths. Races well here and looks hard to hold out again. STASERA (2) is third-up after a couple of ordinary efforts at the provincials to kick off the prep. Nicely drawn and did perform well at this level last prep so she can bounce back. FIRE AND GEMSTONE (7) strips fitter after two runs back from a break. On-pacer who will take some catching. ULYSSES BLUE (6) is an each-way hope getting out to this distance for the first time. SUGGESTED PLAY: His Honour each-way.
