GRAN APLAUSO (7) was strongly fancied at $2.20 last start over 1200m at Hakodate but could only manage to finish ninth, although beaten just over 2 lengths. Better than that and is sure to play a big role. BANDERUOLA (15) was a winner two back at Hakodate then was competitive last time when fourth over 1200m at the same circuit, beaten only 0.9 lengths. Will be handy in running despite the tricky draw. Likely to feature. SOURIRE D'ANGE (14) continues to race well with a win two back at Hakodate then a fast-finishing third last time over 1200m at Hakodate. Yet to miss the frame from three starts and has winning claims. HIRUNO LAUSANNE (5) has a moderate winning strike-rate but performed well last time at this track, finishing fourth and only 0.7 lengths from the winner. Backmarker who gets home hard. Not to be discounted.
