Solid tempo set by Big American and Kazu Pireas. EARTH SPIRIT (1) scored at this track last time out with 3 lengths in reserve at the end of 1600m. Has started four times at this course and distance and is yet to miss the placings. Ryuji Tatsushiro who has two wins when partnering stays on. Draws a nice barrier and will be very competitive again. KAZU PIREAS (10) ran below expectations last time at this track over 1600m, finishing fourth. Has good early speed so should take up a forward position and best form puts him right in this. KYOWA RAY HOPE (2) settled well back from the inside draw last start before coming home nicely to finish fifth over 1800m at this track. Among the chances and will be tough to stop. HO O JULEP (4) raced on pace for much of the way before fading in the straight to finish tenth over 1800m here last time. Back in trip and can feature in the finish.
