RICH CHAMPAGNE (7) was responsible for a nice effort last time out when he finished third, beaten 1.3L, on his jumps debut in a hurdle (3200m) at Hamilton. Fitter again and is a strong chance with Gordon staying aboard. THE STORYTELLER (8) fourth-up today makes his hurdles debut. Has been narrowly beaten his last two on the flat over 2500m at 66 level Has been further prepared with a 2400m trial win at Hamilton. LODBROK (4) has performed well on the flat and needed the outing in a 70 at Bendigo over 2400m first up. Has since placed in a 3200m trial at Hamilton and the in-form Ryan sticks from that. Looks well set for his hurdle debut. ARDAKAN (1) is going over the jumps for the first time. His last two starts have been at Stakes level over staying trips, and he's won a 3200m trial at Hamilton since. Race day rider Pateman was on for that, and that's a decent push for his chances. Stablemate ONGATITI (5) also has his first jumps outing. May need it, but keep onside. SUGGESTED PLAY: Leaning to Rich Champagne.
