Not expecting them to go too hard. BEARINGS (3) has raced well over middle distances in stronger than this and resumed in good order over a mile at Wyong. The step-up to 2000m is ideal, and this is winnable for the Sydney-trained galloper. ZIGGY ROSE (5) brings strong form. Was good at Hawkesbury following her win this track/trip and then came back to the mile here and just missed in a 70 as a firm favourite. Has a key gear switch, and it's hard to risk the in-form Seib yard. Stablemate DEVIL RIDER (1) comes out of the same contest and was disappointing (vet cleared). He missed a whisker at Hawkesbury prior, also against the above, and that stacks right up. Heywood is a key jockey switch for the apprentice. Prior to the spell, FLASHY ICON (7) was an easy synthetic winner here over this trip, and has prepared for this with two tidy efforts. Will enjoy a soft on-pace run and has to be considered. SUGGESTED PLAY: Going with Bearings.
