Many of these step out for the first time so a genuine tempo is expected. Tricky race to start the night. CUSTOM (11) reared at the start on debut and gave away a big start before she warmed up late with an unlucky seventh over 1200m here on January 31. Clark rides again from the inside gate and will take stopping if she can jump cleanly. NAMASTE (2) has a fitness edge over these third-up and possesses the speed to get across from the awkward draw. Showed a ton of grit when second over 1200m here at latest. Solid top-three player. CROWN THE KING (1) snagged back from the awkward gate on resumption and never got a clear crack at them in the straight when eighth over 1100m in the LR Inglis Millennium at Randwick. Sharp improver. YOU SEXY THING (12) taken back from the wide gate on debut and warmed up late when an even fifth over 1200m here on January 31. Further improved for this and expected to take a hand in the finish.
