Many of these step out for the first time so a genuine tempo is expected. Tricky. AMANT FRANCAIS (9) raced forward and was beaten less than 1L at Hobart on debut. Fitter and can skip across from an outside gate. Kersley is a key jockey switch replacing the 3kg apprentice. DYNAMIC THEORY (13) is a leader who raced favourite here 56 days ago and disappointed. The form leading into that was good and he has been kept up to the mark with a 2L Longford trial win. Draws handy and should go close. SMART ARTIE (1) is ready to win building on the two-placed efforts at the track. The gate is cruel but has early speed and the 2kg claim remains handy. MEGA MIC (3) resumes and has switched from a Victorian yard. Newitt stays aboard and owns a trial win on the synthetic. The betting will be key, as it will be with ANTHEIA (4) who's switched from a NSW stable and brings a recent Hobart trial win. SUGGESTED PLAY: Amant Francais appeals most.
