NUM TIME COMMENT
1 10:05 Maiden Race 1800m
DANON DAX (3) sets the standard after being beaten a nose on debut at Niigata, where he was a dominant odds-on favourite and picked up strongly to just miss. Christophe Lemaire stays aboard and the inside draw gives him a clean platform to make amends fresh. INITIAL POINT (12) has the benefit of two runs, including a debut second when close in betting, and her fifth at Nakayama was sound enough to keep her in the main winning discussion despite the new 1800m test. EPIC JOURNEY (11) is already proven at the distance, having finished third at Niigata, and that gives him a practical edge over several lightly raced rivals still stretching out. MISTY BEACON (10) was pipped on debut over 2000m at Hanshin at generous odds, so even with the slight distance change he brings a genuine maiden-winning profile.
2 10:35 Maiden Race 1400m
PIXIE BLAST (9) sets the standard off a sound debut at Nakayama, where she was fourth in a 2yo NEWCOMER and beaten just over two lengths after being well found in an open market. The return to 1400m is a small question, but the debut substance and scope for natural improvement make her the horse to beat. Y'S JEWEL (6) has been in the market at both starts and worked home fairly from an impossible position last time, so the extra ground can help her show more. COOL BOBBY (8) brings a recent line through Seiun Relena and had Y's Jewel behind him there, though his two previous 1400m attempts leave some qualification. YODONO PREMIUM (1) was favourite when fifth last start, yet his Niigata debut third reads well enough to keep him firmly in the winning mix.
3 11:05 Newcomer Race 1600m
TAIZANFUKUN (8) earns top billing with Christophe Lemaire booked and Ryo Takei's debut record of 3 wins and 10 placings from 20 starters giving him a solid statistical base for a newcomer. G T KAGURA (1) is the main danger from barrier 1, especially with Toru Kurita's Le Vent Se Leve figures reading 4 wins and 9 placings from 16 runners. FAIT DU DESTIN (6) has a lighter 53kg impost and comes from a Group 1-winning stable, though K Seishi's 0-from-26 debut record is the note of caution. VENTO SERALE (9) has enough family and stable profile to be respected, with Achiever a Nakayama Dirt 1800m winner and Akihide Tsumura adding experience.
4 11:35 Maiden Race 3000m
GRAND NAVIRE (8) brings the most reliable recent steeplechase form, having placed at his past three completed starts and resumed with a third at Nakayama when beaten just under two lengths as a well-supported favourite. He is still a maiden, but his consistency this season gives him the strongest winning case. UP STROKE (3) is the main danger after improving from a fourth at this venue to a close second at Chukyo, and his proven placing at the distance adds substance. ENJOY DRIVE (2) resumed with a sound third over 2880m at Nakayama and has enough place consistency to keep pressing forward second-up. TAGANO BARCOS (13) returns with a useful record around this trip and his third at this track two runs ago reads well enough to make him a genuine threat if he is forward enough fresh.
5 12:25 Newcomer Race 2000m
LINDWURM (2) has the most compelling debut profile, combining a Lord Kanaloa pedigree with a stakes-winning mare, Christophe Lemaire in the saddle and strong Masahiro Otake first-starter figures. SILVER NOBLE (7) is the main threat, a JPY39.6m Silver State colt from a deep winning family and backed by a useful M Kon-Silver State record. SATONO RADIANT (4) draws neatly and gets Keita Tosaki, which gives him a clean platform despite a quieter stable debut record. LOGI VISION (3) is a filly by Silver State for Y Kato, whose first-starter place rate gives her enough grounding to be a serious minor-money player.
6 12:55 Newcomer Race 1600m
JYOTIS (5) has the strongest newcomer profile, with Christophe Lemaire taking the ride for leading trainer T Tezuka and the Maurice filly backed by a solid trainer-sire record of 15 wins and 36 placings from 106 runners. ROUGE QUASAR (14) has a wide barrier to overcome, but Y Shikato's debut record is sound and the Diogene family includes Reboost, a debut winner who later won twice. DIAM (12) draws out as well, yet Takeshi Yokoyama is a major booking and the Efforia filly has enough substance on breeding to be a genuine danger. SUNDAY (1) gets barrier one, Akihide Tsumura and a family with debut performers, giving her a clean platform to run well at the first time of asking.
7 01:25 Allowance Race 1400m
SEVEN MEDULAS (5) is the horse to beat on his best form, with Christophe Lemaire back aboard and a strong record at this venue giving him the cleanest profile among the main chances. His last two sixths read better with context: he was well found in betting before failing to finish the job at this track, and he had earlier been run down late as an odds-on favourite. PERO (13) brings the sharper recent run after finishing fourth at Nakayama Dirt, beaten just under three lengths, and the return of a winning rider plus strong recent ratings keep him firmly in the contest. HELVETIOS (10) has the proven track-and-distance win and beat Isa Chil Seeking at Fukushima Dirt last campaign, so his resuming claims are genuine despite a mixed closing pair of runs. ISA CHIL SEEKING (7) has first-time blinkers and was respected in betting before his plain Fukushima Dirt run, leaving him capable of a much better fresh showing if the gear change switches him on.
8 02:01 Allowance Race 1800m
TEN READY GO (5) has the right recent platform after a soft 3yo Maiden win at Sapporo and a sound second to Hayabusa Sakichan at his latest run, beaten two and a half lengths. He is proven around 1800m and the positive gear change gives him a strong winning profile. SOLENNELLEMENT (12) brings the best quality line, having placed in the G3 Keisei Hai after winning at this track, and his three-start record is hard to fault. HURIYA (8) is progressing well, won at this venue two back and returned with a solid Sapporo third. SHONAN DYNE (15) has been building, with a close Nakayama third last start, and his 1800m record keeps him right in the winning mix if he repeats that effort.
9 02:35 TVK SHO 1400m
LA PEINTURE (15) has the right profile to improve again after working home evenly for second at Niigata, beaten a length and a half, and she now reaches the fourth run of the campaign with recent form that rates strongly. The 1400m record is the query, but her latest effort gives her the clearest winning platform. SPE LUCE (10) brings the strongest class reference from last campaign, having placed in Listed company before tackling the G3 Radio Nikkei Sho, and his record at this track adds substance. FERMI ARC (9) is lightly raced, already two from two at this venue and proven at this distance, so she is a genuine danger fresh. OEUF D'OEUF (11) arrives in winning form from Niigata and has a deep 1400m record, making him a reliable contender if he handles his first look at this track.
10 03:10 AKAFUJI STAKES 1600m
ON THE MOVIE (5) sets the standard after three straight wins, the latest at Sapporo Dirt where he was dominant in betting and still charged home to beat Tagano Elu by a length and a half. His record around 1600m is strong and he brings the most compelling recent form. CHUWA CHIEF (7) was decisive in 3yo+ COND grade at Morioka Dirt, scoring by six lengths as a short odds-on favourite, and his prior record at this track and distance keeps him firmly in the winning discussion. BRETWALDA (3) has returned in excellent order, winning two back before finishing third, beaten just over a length, at Niigata Dirt; the only reservation is translating that 1800m form back to this trip. ARARE TABASHIRU (4) has been runner-up at both runs this campaign, beat Bretwalda home last time, and gets another chance to turn consistent form into a win.
11 03:45 THE MAINICHI OKAN 1800m
SATONO SHINING (4) is the clear starting point after resuming with a third in the G3 Chukyo Kinen, beaten just over a length as favourite, and he was also third in this race last year at this venue. His 1800m record is strong, with a win and two placings from three attempts, and the second-up profile gives him a strong platform. READINESS (3) has race fitness on his side and comes through a G2 Sapporo Kinen placing at big odds, with two wins from four starts at the trip and a sound record at this track. REALIZE SIRIUS (2) brings high-class three-year-old form, including a narrow G1 Satsuki Sho second, and his record at this track and distance keeps him firmly in the mix. REICHSADLER (6) won first-up at Niigata when heavily backed, and while this is a stronger assignment, his 1800m record gives him a genuine winning case.
12 04:30 Allowance Race 1600m
LIFE GATE (14) brings the most reliable recent profile, having gone within a nose two back at Sapporo Dirt before another solid fifth there, beaten two and a half lengths and well found in betting. He is well seasoned, reunites with a rider who has a strong record on him, and his depth around this distance makes him the horse to beat. NIGHT SLUGGER (3) is third-up, proven at 1600m and has been consistently competitive enough to press hard, though Kazeno Takatoshi held him at Nakayama Dirt last time. ZAAFIR (7) resumes with a sharp record, having bolted in by five lengths at this track before the break and owning a perfect place record at this track and distance. FIREMAN (16) can rebound sharply from a plain 3yo Open run, with his easy 3yo Allow win at this venue two starts ago making him a genuine danger.
