NUM TIME COMMENT
1 11:40 Race 1 1000m
CHILI D'OR (2) gets the nod on debut with a neat barrier, 54kg and enough family substance to make a strong early case. Ryujin, a half-relation, won nine races, while Aqua First placed on debut and Big Jacaranda was fourth first time out over 1000m, so there is some race-day readiness in the family. LION BURST (1) has the inside draw and Tomokazu Tachibana's debut figures read well from a small sample, with one winner and two placings from three starters. ESCA COCCO (3) has arguably the strongest stable-breeding pointer, with the Kazumune Ito and Gold Dream combination producing two wins and six placings from seven starts, while both listed siblings performed well on debut. ACES HIGH (5) has the deeper pedigree through Listed performer Nonlicense and a full sibling in Mammaru who placed first time out, but has more to prove against the sharper profiles.
2 12:15 Race 2 1000m
GOLDEN SYRUP (6) brings the most reliable current form, having placed at both recent Mizusawa runs and worked home into second behind M T Waltz last week. The quick back-up is a small consideration, but his higher-class background, recent rating profile and solid good-track record give him the strongest winning platform. O K SMILE (7) is the obvious danger after charging home to miss by half a length as a well-supported favourite, and her fourth in 3yo+ B2 company two back reads well for this grade. KURINO SUCCESS (3) has to rebound from a plain ninth, yet her fourth to Luna prior keeps her in the mix if the class drop helps. HO O LEVAIN (2) was well held last time, but his seven-win career record and fourth-up fitness make him a place-to-winning chance if he handles this sharper assignment.
3 12:55 Race 3 1200m
SUZHOU PRINCESS (7) is the one to beat despite missing the frame in two 3yo Maiden runs at Sapporo, most recently finishing 12th over 2000m behind Red Regulus. The class drop into C2 is the decisive angle, and she is rated strongest on recent form and around this distance. MAURIAT (2) also comes back from 3yo Maiden company and has more upside than most in a modest field, although her Niigata Dirt eighth was plain. PEACE LUCKY (4) has been well beaten at Mizusawa but has contested 3yo B1 and 3yo B2 races, so the easier assignment keeps her in the mix for a placing. MEISHO AYUKAZE (1) was well held first-up, yet she backs up quickly and has enough career placings to be considered for the minor money if sharper second-up.
4 01:30 Race 4 1200m
JUBEL SIEG (6) is the one to beat despite a winless profile, with her last two runs reading best for this field: beaten just over five lengths in a 3yo Maiden at Sapporo after only a fair finish, and beaten just under four lengths at Hakodate when making good ground. The drop into C2 company and the strong jockey-trainer pairing give her the clearest winning case. FRANCES GULLIVER (5) is the main danger, having worked home fairly from a long way back at Niigata Dirt after a 1700m run at Morioka that did not quite see her finish off. COSMO MAYWEATHER (8) is harder to back as a winner after two well-held sixths at Mizusawa, but he has been kept up to the mark and rates as a genuine place chance in this line-up. SHIAWASENO LAMP (3) resumes after two plain efforts at this track, yet her previous win at this track and distance gives her a practical edge if she returns closer to her better form.
5 02:05 Race 5 1600m
SILVER SPADE (8) brings the clearest winning profile after a win and a narrow second from two starts at this track, the latest when a well-supported favourite and beaten just under a length by Precious Asset. His record around 1600m is stronger than most in this line-up, and he has already beaten And Roses recently. AND ROSES (5) is the immediate danger after closing into third at this venue, though the lack of a win from 25 starts keeps a ceiling on the confidence. FOR ELISE (10) has the deeper overall record, with four wins and eight placings from 22 starts and a strong partnership with Masatoshi Yamamoto, and her head defeat at this track two back reads well. CAPITAL PLANE (3) has been safely held at her past two, but the class drop and useful past-12-month record give her a case to rebound into the placings.
6 02:40 Race 6 1200m
MISS MELISSA (2) gets the nod on the back of the strongest set-up, dropping from 3yo C1 grade into C2 company and staying on 52kg. Her latest sixth at Mizusawa was well beaten, but she had made ground the run prior and has already placed at around 1200m, which gives her the most credible profile in a modest race. SAMURAI TIME (7) is the main danger if she can reproduce her fifth to Luath Gloir two starts ago, when beaten just under five lengths and picking up in the straight, with the 50kg impost another plus. RUBY SUNSET (9) was respected in betting last start and has a fourth and fifth from her past two, though both margins leave her short of being a clear win play. MONT SAINT JASMINE (6) comes through two plain 1400m runs, but the class drop and returning winning rider give her a route into the minor end of the winning chances.
7 03:20 Race 7 1200m
NISHINO TOMARANAI (1) is the top pick despite two average runs this campaign. The move from 3yo Maiden to C2 company should provide a clear setup change. Last seen at Nakayama Dirt, he finished over 13 lengths behind at big odds, but now third-up and with a stable change, he's expected to improve sharply. STEEL SHUTTLE (2) has the best overall record with seven wins and nine placings from 48 starts, and her better form is better than her eighth at Mizusawa suggests. However, being a top betting choice there and still finishing over 14 lengths behind raises concerns. FIORE GREEN (5) had a competitive fourth last time, beaten under four lengths at Mizusawa, but her latest ninth was disappointing. MEISHO TADATSUGU (7) was costly as the odds-on favorite last start but showed some late effort and has a chance to place again if he maintains that form.
8 03:55 Race 8 1200m
TRUONG SON (9) gets the nod despite coming off midfield finishes at Chukyo, with his sixth behind Finger Lakes and latest eighth behind My Complete reading well enough for this grade. The first go at 1200m is the qualification, but he has been keeping stronger company and the class drop gives him a clear chance to break through. GLORIOUS DANCE (10) also comes back from 3yo Maiden company and, while her Sapporo and Hakodate runs were plain on paper, she profiles as a better fit in this C2. M T TOP (3) brings the most recent placing, working home evenly for third behind S C Yamato and carrying 50kg again, which keeps her right in the winning mix. NEXT DOOR (4) has been beaten a long way at his two runs this campaign, but third-up, down in grade and new to 1200m, he has enough upside to be treated as a place-to-win fringe hope.
9 04:35 Race 9 1400m
FUTAITEN WHEEL (10) looks the most reliable winning option after an eye-catching fourth at Mizusawa, where she had plenty to do and still kept coming to be beaten four and a half lengths. Her record at this track and distance is a major asset, and the light weight keeps her well placed to convert that recent-rating edge. NEVER EVER (5) brings B1 form back into this and his latest fifth at Mizusawa was sound enough, beaten just over four lengths after starting an outside chance. NEW WALK (2) has to be assessed on more than the last-start failure, as she was near the top of betting before dropping out over 1600m and had run a better fourth in 3yo+ B1 grade at this venue the start prior. DIVA DREAM (7) has been well beaten at her past two, but she has won at this track and brings a better overall profile than those runs suggest.
10 05:10 Race 10 1400m
TYPEFACE (9) sets the standard off a track win in 3yo+ C2 company, where she was sent out a dominant odds-on favourite and beat Bleu Chateau by half a length. Her earlier second to Spiritual at this venue adds depth, and one win with two placings from three track-and-distance attempts gives her a very solid base. TERUTE (4) looks the main danger after a last-start second at Mizusawa, beaten three lengths by Sun Calypso, and her four wins at this track and distance give her a strong course profile. DANCING FIGHT (8) has to rebound from a ten-length defeat at Mizusawa, but her neck second at this venue two back and perfect top-three record from three starts at this track and distance keep her right in play. FORTISSIMO DAI (2) was unwanted in betting last start yet did make ground in the straight, so he appeals as a place-leaning hope if he can put the prior odds-on failure behind him.
11 05:40 Race 11 1400m
SOL DE VERANO (6) has the strongest recent form profile, coming off a B1B2 second at Mizusawa when beaten just under a length by Laser Speckle after a genuine winning effort. His previous B1 win over Perles Celestes gives the form further depth, and a proven record at this track and distance adds to the case. SUN CALYPSO (9) is the immediate danger after winning by three lengths at Mizusawa as a dominant odds-on favourite, though Sol De Verano had her measure in a close B1 finish three weeks ago. PRINCESS KNIGHT (10) has been highly reliable, beaten only a neck by Z Thunder last start after winning strongly at this venue the run before, and her jockey-horse record is a major asset. Z THUNDER (1) earned respect by beating Princess Knight last time and is capable of holding a minor placing if he repeats that sharper effort.
12 06:15 Race 12 1600m
RIKEA SAMBA (1) sets the standard after two starts for two dominant wins, most recently beating Sei Carlton by four lengths at Mizusawa when near the top of betting. The 1600m is new, but his race record and rider profile give him the strongest winning platform. CRIMSON DAHLIA (11) is the main danger off a consistent four-start record at this track, with a nine-length win two back and a sound third last time after being well found. BELLAGIO EVANS (7) has scope third-up, having won on debut at Mombetsu before finishing third behind Rikea Samba at Mizusawa, and he remains lightly raced enough to progress. SEI CARLTON (4) was beaten by the top pick as favourite last start, but his two previous wins at around 1600m keep him firmly in the mix for a placing and possible rebound.
